  Hi, Have a 307 estate 110 hdi with fault codes 1447, 1448 +1537 stored in engine ECU together with all usuall DPF blocked symptems. Also have fault code 8332 stored in additive ECU. The additive level in the tank is about 2 3rds full and both magnets are present on the filler cap. Using a friends scanner the DPF shows a soot loading of 24?

  I've taken it into a local garage who informed me that my dpf  filter was playing up and needed replaces although this would cost me just under £1000. Because my DPF light was not on I checked with another garage who gave me the following fault codes; P242F P1391F P2459 C1119 They did a DPF regeneration and cleared all fault codes.

   On checking my oil last month it was right up to the maximum mark so my husband draining some out to reduce it to its normal level. From what i can gather and what i have read about the DPF on long, up to full temperature journeys the dpf regenerates itself. on shorter journeys it injects fuel into the engine to get hotter and that regenerates it. but it seems on mine the extra added fuel is just going into the engine and staying there.

  DPF starts to flash again. Stopped and switched off for 10mins. Restarted and DPF continues to flash - pull away and car runs fine. DPF then stops flashing and goes solid. Then just before destination it goes out completely.

  Hello - My apologies if this has been done to death, but I seem to remember reading here once that there is a way of identifying whether a V50 has a liquid or solid DPF. (I have searched, but cannot find the thread.) If I have read rightly, the solid ones are for the lifetime of the car and the liquids need maintenance and replacement at 36k and 72k. I guess the solid is therefore preferable.
