VW Passat 2008 Estate 1.9 - DIY Oil Change + Used Car Warranty 22 Apr 2013 (Forum)
Also, the oil filter cap is unbelievably tight and unsure whether that has been replaced recently The car came with a complimentary one year full used Toyota warranty, which touch-wood has not had to be used yet. However as the car has a turbo and I want to look after it, I would like to do my own oil change which I have done on other cars in the past. -
Ford Focus Zetec 2008 - Does 3 months warranty from dealer cover faulty AC 11 Jun 2014 (Forum)
I phoned the dealer and he immediately said this belongs under servicing and that's not covered in the warranty which I don't really get. When we bought the car I asked what was included in the warranty and he simply said everything. As far as i'm concerned no matter what the AC / ventilation system fall under, this should be covered by the warranty. -
warranty on import 10 Mar 2003 (Forum)
I thought there was a European Directive on Pan-European Warranties" in force to stop this sort of thing? Where do I go from here in asserting my rights? As I have no written warranty or service book I might well contravene the terms of any warranty before I ever see it if I carry on using the car! -
Warranty Direct - Warranty Direct-you CANNOT use any garage. 7 Oct 2015 (Forum)
It's worth knowing before taking out a policy with Warranty Direct (WD) that you CANNOT use the garage of your choice even if you paid for that service. The garage you choose must be VAT registered. I've just had a problem with my car, the local garage that I have used for the last 5 years came and helped me out and got the car to his garage. -

Warranty Rip-Off investigation 1 Jul 2003 (Forum)
The inquiry follows complaints that the current set-up restricts competition because owners are pressured into having warranty work undertaken at the garage where they bought their cars. Manufacturers do not specify where new cars must be serviced but owners risk losing warranty protection if work is not carried out by an authorised dealer. -
vauxhall warranty 5 Jun 2003 (Forum)
Some 3-year warranty. BTW GM advertising in the US seems now to be conceding that their earlier cars weren't as reliable as they should have been but that they have improved significantly since. Comment? -

Any - Do I keep the warranty? 12 Feb 2013 (Forum)
Just bought 1 year old car from main dealer. It has 2 years remaining warranty. Previous cars have been too old for this luxury and been serviced by a trusted local independent, so I'm out of touch with the rules. -
New car warranties. 20 Jan 2007 (Forum)
I have a 56 plate astra when i need it's first service vx want £156.00 to change the oil & filter and check the brakes etc, (no other parts fitted)!!! my question is : can i service the car myself and sign the service book using vx parts and keep all receipts? will the 3yr warranties still stand? i am a time served mechanic so no probs here but just no longer working in the motor vehicle industry to get it stamped. i know i can use an independent garage but there not much cheaper and all they will do is the same or will i just have to bite the bullet and cough up my brass?? -

Dacia Stepaway - Bought a faulty car with a warranty 24 Mar 2024 (Forum)
Hi. My son in law paid £5k - took out a loan for this used car a few weeks ago. Since then, it's constantly found with wet seats in the car rear. He has travelled a few miles to the warranty specialist to get repaired but they can't find the problem. The dealer now won't help either. -
Warranties 3 Feb 2001 (Forum)
Having just purchased a used Mondeo, the dealer will fully warranty it for three months. After that he wants about three hundred pounds for a years warranty, which is actually of course an insurance policy. I haven't taken that up - are there any recommendations of third party 'warranty' products like this to give me reasonable cover for less than this, or am I being a cheapskate? -
Air Con fault - trader dodges warranty claim 29 Jun 2008 (Forum)
Sooo,,, My brother bought a Mazda 6 from a used car dealer that works from home, I bought it on 27/3/08. In the past month or so, the air conditioning has stopped working, I call the trader up as it states "used car warranty" on the invoice (but it seems to say £0.00 for the cost of it) He tells me to go to get it regassed, I look up in the yellow pages for a specialist and take it to him for work, he detects a leak, he writes a report detailing the fault. -
Vauxhall zafira - AA Warranty 8 Sep 2012 (Forum)
The AA recommend that I do not really use the car as this would make warranty void as driving the car could cause more damage and that I'm now the one that has to find a specialist to fix my car. So currently I have a car that I can't use, AA reconmended garage that can't fix my car and a £700 warranty that is not worth the paper it is written on I really dont know what to do now for the best.
