  Bought a fuel filter and an oil filter recently;fuel filter was marked "Motorcraft" as usual but the oil filter was marked "FoMoCo";a trademark that I thought was long gone but the part was not for an old car.

  When you insure your house you have a specific figure printed on the certificate for replacement value. Is there any way of doing this with car insurance? I know there's gap insurance for new cars, but what about for the old ones?

  N reg Nissan Micra (K11 type) mileage: 69k I used to change oil filter on this car every 10k or 12 months, usually at MOT time. But I have changed jobs and now drive about 22k per annum. Just for arguments sake, would extending the oil filter change period to 20k damage the engine on a car this old?

  Any advice on the below would be greatly appreciated! I want to get a new car and get rid of our old one, but the tax is due on 30th April and MOT in May. We can't have a gap with no car but equally don't want to spend money on the old car unnecessarily.  Current car is 2006 Mazda 6 which we got 3 years ago from a family member for £400.

  Hi, Tommorow I get my old car taken away and put the replacement on the road, I have told my insurance policy to switch from my old one to my new one tommorow, however I cant specify a time it just goes in as 00.00 by default, I wont get my old car picked up till the afternoon and cos of the stupid SORN and car tax regs I can only retax my SORN car tommorow morning and I need to drive the old car to the post office to get the tax to make the SORN car driveable.

  Hello all, hope you are all well, Is it true that used car prices drop steeply once a car gets to 3 years old? I've heard this said in the past, think its supposed to be that the price drops once a car has to have MOTs. Don't know if its just an urban myth or not?

  I've got a box of fuel pumps in the garage from various old cars that were left over from a business. They're pretty much all marked up AC Delco exchange service but checking a few of the numbers they don't come up in google or on ac delco's own site. I am fairly certain most of them are for pre 1980s cars.

  ive just picked up a very old snap on 3/8 ratchet at a car boot sale it has the words "FERRET " F70N embossed on the side and is in a industrial fininsh i have never seen one so named before any one any idea how old it might be(needless to say it works like new!

  I am looking at buying either a Yaris or Jazz that is 1 or 2 years old. However my concern is would I be buying someone elses lemon? - Afterall why on earth would you trade in a new car after only 1 or 2 years ownership? I can undertsand with Fiestas and Focuses, you are probably buying an ex fleet car, but I doubt that is the case with a Yaris or Jazz Any views?

  Obviously as this is an ongoing matter for the police cant discuss too much, but the details so far are that a car swerved onto the pavement and hit the pram with a 2 month old baby in. Baby died later. Mother had minor physical injuries. Snip - PG The driver has stated his jeans got caught in the pedals.

  If our girls were old enough for a car I'd be thinking about something like a Nissan Micra or Citroen ZX D, perhaps around 1994. But they are only 4 and 6 now so the eldest will perhaps be looking for a car in 12 years time.

  Is it talking about advancing and retarding the ignition timing? The book is set in the 1930s dust bowl, and the cars were old, so probably 1920s models. One car that's mentioned is a Hudson Super Six. For example: when starting a car with the starting handle: "Pull down the spark so she don't take my arm off".
