  • BMW - Effecient Dynamics 17 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Idly browsing the Autotrader and saw a 57 reg BMW 520d M Sport at £19995. This is a good £10'000 saving on new. (From a non BMW main dealer). Its the older engine with the lower horse power and higher C02. Then did a check of BMW dealer cars and similar cars with the newer engine are £4-5000 more expensive.

  • 2015 BMW with 3 year warantee? 23 Feb 2023 (Forum)
I never owned a BMW. I try to buy sensible cars with low repair costs.   I fancied a BMW 3 series. I keep reading about high repair bills. YouTuber Scotty Kilmer's who saying BMW = Big Money Wasters  Money Pit etc....
  • BMW M4 - BMW M4, Cat S 26 Oct 2022 (Forum)
Hi All, First time poster here; could use some kind advice: Found a BMW M4, 2017 plate, but Cat S. £25,000. The most comparable model I can find (same year, v low mileage, number of owners(1), carbon fibre add ons, full BMW service history) is £36,000. The owner tells me the damage (front left quarter) was repaired with BMW parts and to a high standard.
  • BMW e30, 316 - BMW e30, 1984, M10 engine - carburettor dilemma 25 Nov 2015 (Forum)
Ok here is the dilemma and your advice would be greatly appreciated.    I've an immaculate (no rust) 1984, BMW e30, 316.  The carb has just gone. BMW want to charge £1,700 to fit a new carb as the original Pierburg 2BE.  the alternative is to fit a much improved - though not original part - Weber 32 / 34 manual choke carb. for £700 My question is this, which is the carb that will ensure the long life and heritage of this classic car  - I appreciate there's a trade off here in terms of BMW 'prestige' (£1700 for a carb?!)

  • BMW 2 Series - BMW Diesel engine remapping 31 Mar 2014 (Forum)
Hi I am looking to get the new BMW 2series or 3series. I am getting the 2ltr diesel but I just wanted to check what's the difference between the 218d and the 220d? Is the power difference just down to engine mapping and can the both be remapped to the same power?
  • BMW 3 Series E90 - New BMW 318i - any experiences? 18 Oct 2010 (Forum)
Well the company car list has now come through and among the usual Vectras and Mondeos the BMW 318i has appeared. I had an e36 318i back in the 90s and it was bullet proof. Has anyone experience of the e90 2010 version? Gutless wonder or surprising underdog?
  • End of Life - BMW to pay for old BMCs? 21 Dec 2005 (Forum)
When BMW bought the Rover Group they bought all the brands which went into it. When BMW sold to Phoenix they only sold Rover and MG brands. Does this mean that BMW are responsible for end of life recycling costs of all the old brands - Mini, Vanden Plas, Wolseley, Riley, Morris, Austin?
  • BMW X5 - Turbo failure BMW X5 34k 2020 no goodwill?? 22 Feb 2024 (Forum)
So the car remains at the franchise & any advice would be welcome? The car has been serviced on time granted outside the bmw network but by a fully qualified bmw specialist with all services performed as per bmw specifications and each service updated to the bmw database using genuine parts. Surely a car of this prestige & price should be manufactured to the highest quality & covered by the manufacturer, is there an legal requirement from them?
  • BMW 5-Series E39 (1996 - 2003) - 02 2.5 525d engine failure - swirl flaps 8 Aug 2012 (Forum)

  • BMW 320D M Sport Convertible - BMW Cracked Rims 10 Feb 2016 (Forum)
Looks like I have been caught by the fact BMW 19" low profile rims are not fit for purpose as at 15,000 miles the dealer now tells me they will not pass a MOT. Cannot believe how many posts there are on the net about BMW rims. So rather than throw good money after bad I am thinking of down sizeing and/or moving off run-flats.
  • Find where your BMW was made 15 Mar 2007 (Forum)
http://www.bmwarchiv.de/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html Decodes the details of your BMW/Rolls/MINI from 1928 thru 2006. Babel Fish translates quite well. (bless it)
  • BMW 3 Series - BMW - Is adaptive suspension worth having? 28 Apr 2017 (Forum)
I'm thinking of buying a BMW 320i and almost all reviews recommend ticking the adaptive suspension option even for the 318i. I'm not planning on flying around A or B roads but don't want to spoil the car for not having it. But before committing,  at £750, I'd be interested in people's experiences of driving with or without it.
  • BMW - Scrapping a BMW- A Waste? 23 Sep 2009 (Forum)
My friends have just bought a new BMW 325 Touring, actually 3 litre, with automatic gearbox. I was amazed to find out that their shiny- owned from new- 323 Touring was exchanged under the scrappage deal. Was admittedly ~14 years old, and pretty high mileage, but fully dealer serviced.
  • BMW Radio display 10 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Hi -- I'm new on here and looking for advice. Hope I'm doing this right !! I have a 6 year old BMW 530i and the radio / time display is now illegible as the pixels are quickly fading (BMW radio, factory fitted). Also got "funny" pixel shapes on the AC screen. Initial enquiries to BMW dealership suggest that it will cost £450 - £500 to replace.
