  • Land Rover Discovery drivers - 25%! 4 Feb 2012 (Forum)
<*** class="editorial " src="http://l.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/mSo.PoAWyrAvw2Tt2a_CYw--/YXBwaWQ9eW5ld3M7cT04NTt3PTYzMA--/http://l.yimg.com/os/423/2012/02/01/Discovery-jpg_165758.jpg" alt="" width="630" /> Research revealed that Citroen Saxo VTR drivers are worst for driving under the influence whilst Peugeot 106 GTI owners are least likely to comply with traffic lights. Stats also showed that Ford Galaxy Zetec owners are caught most often using their phones while driving.
  • Upto £8k for a new'ish car 28 Aug 2011 (Forum)
The budget I have been set is up to £8k although ideally £7.5k of course that all depends on what exactly I can come up with and if it meets my parents approval. Currently I’m driving around a 10yo Vauxhall Agila 1.0l which is leaking all over my dad’s drive way and is not exactly a decent car but if it were not leaking it would probably be sticking around until it completely falls to bits.

  • BMW 320D SPORT 2004 - BMW 320D Does Dual Mass Flywheel needs replacing? 6 Sep 2010 (Forum)
Anyway,  I asked them to put it back together as they said the clutch was not at fault but would need replacing along with the DMF. I have since been driving it round and it drives like the day I had it.   Surely if the DMF was in such bad state as they said I would encounter some sort of issues with it?!?   It drives really smooth with no judder or slip which makes me think they are trying it on.
  • Leaving a 12 car gap at all times 20 Jan 2010 (Forum)
On the motorway, we drive much too close to the car in front. Even on almost empty roads cars can commonly be observed driving convoy 1 car length apart. Driving closer than 6-12 car lengths distance at any speed on the motorway provably causes tailbacks[1].
  • Vauxhall Vectra B (1995 - 1999) - 97 1.8 petrol (?) Stalling engine & ign. light. 17 Jun 2008 (Forum)
The car after i have driven about 20miles then park and then get back in just after i have started driving again ( i basically drive from work to parents house, pick up son then drive home again) i normally pull into the same road (my parents road) and reverse out. Anyway it has started to stall at this place mainly and then the ignition light comes on.
  • Lancia - Ypsilon, driving experience. 25 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Just had an interesting week driving around Italy in a Lancia Ypsilon - two door "luxury" supermini (http://www.lanciaypsilon.com/ypsilon/eng/home.html ) We went for the cheapest car we could hire and I must say it's impressive. Ours had climate control and was plenty big enough for me to drive, and notably wide enough.
  • Company Car vs Car Allowance 18 Apr 2007 (Forum)
A:- should I opt out or not B:- what is probably the best option I need to be looking at C:- anything else I may not have covered above The main considerations have to be financial rather than drive quality. I need something thats economical and the petrol auto just isnt around town. I'm lucky to get 30mpg and thats driving it under 3500 revs. Cheers count but to be honest, the main considerations have to be financial rather than drive quality.
  • Nearly killed a child last night 20 Sep 2004 (Forum)
I have watched that advert where it shows if a car wasn't speeding it wouldn't have knocked the boy down. Now I know how true it is. I am not going to preach to anyone else or beg you to drive safely, I have read such comments in the past and it has not affected my driving. What happened last night, however, has.
  • Driver training - skid pan 27 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Apparently, what I was doing is what everyone does, and is the reason why skids in front wheel drive cars are called "killer skids" by those in the training world. Format of the morning? Swan around in a rear-wheel drive car (BWM 3 series) and a front-wheel drive (Rover 216), four to a car. Spin a lot, laugh a lot.
  • Losing the rear end of a BMW? 21 Nov 2001 (Forum)
Please note that I do not feel this is because I am driving like a boy racer, as the symptoms occur even when I go around roundabouts at 20mph. I think that this is caused by accelerating out of corners, which I always believed was the correct driving technique, and so, whilst the front wheels are turning slightly, the back wheels are attempting to propel the car in a different direction.

  • Applying for class 2 and class 1 with DR20 and DR3 8 Apr 2019 (Forum)
Please forgive me for the noob questions or if they have been answered before, I am sorry in advance. A little bit about my personal situation, in early 2016 I have had a DR20: Driving or attempting to drive while unfit through drink and a DR30: Driving or attempting to drive then failing to supply a specimen for analysis. I do not want to get into the details and defend myself here but basically, I was not actually driving nor attempted to drive but that is another story.

  • Car Park failing to stop/report dangerous driving 18 Oct 2013 (Forum)
Hi wondering if anyone can give me some advice, my car is registered to me fully comp insured for me and i have my son as a named driver as if i am not using the car i let him take it to work ~(he has full licence) this 'incident' occured on a sunday i was at home my son used the car to go to work, on way back he went to supermarket car park got some milk and came out, nothing strange in that well 4 days later i received a nip for failing to stop/report, dangerous driving, driving without due care attention ....at the car park !  my car is not damaged that i can see, i have been over it like a fine tooth combe i bought it as a four year old car so would have had  tiny key scratches etc this was back in june, i filled out the form to say my son was driving, he also replied by email to the station saying i drove the car i was in the car park but not quite at the time they had put, he said he wasnt aware of making contact with any vehicle or anything else for that matter , and as for dangerous driving he said it is a car park with people walking around queuing to get out i couldnt drive dangerously.
