  HELP!!! Immobiliser nightmare I've had my s reg mk4 a week now. Yesterday I drove to my mums a mile down the road did what I needed to do and when I went to start the car again the immobiliser kicked in. My step dad plugged the diagnostic machine in and erased it but it did nothing.
• Peugeot 307 - Flexible Pipe Hanging Down Underneath 11 Sep 2012 (Forum)
  This is a pipe / hose approx 1ft in length with a diameter of about 10cm. It has a ribbed / flexible section, which is similar to bendy straws. It has an S clip on it which I presume connects to a similar pipe near by but has unclipped itself. Area is the underside roughly below where the gear stick is. Pipe is dry; not dripping liqud. Haven't jacked it up to have a good look.

  Hi all Just bought a lovely 1.8tdci focus estate. It's got FFSH but in the words or the garage where it's been service over the years has had "s*** loads done to it but no timing belt" He said they are due at 100,000, but is this ok or should I play it safe asnd get it done now at 92,000? Also can anyone give me an indication of what the cost is expected to be and does it usually include water pump and tensioners?

  Just had the starter motor changed, now when I slow down and change down (mainly 3rd-2nd gear) I get s slight squeak as I lift my foot off the clutch. Cheers, Jon

  We don't do many miles so am not too bothered with the extra fuel comsumption of a petrol one - and have seen a couple of 430's with LPG conversions and have had gas vehicles before. Does anyone have any advice of what to look for, avoid etc. as I don't really want to get caught with my pants down but I know that the build quality (apparently) isn't up to the usual standard.

  I am considering buying a 2.4 petrol Accord, but have heard that certain Honda engines require their tappets adjusted periodically. Does this only apply only to the high performance engines (S 2000) or would the Accord 2 litre & 2.4 petrol engines also require this adjustment. If this is the case, could someone please advise what mileage intervals this adjustment would be required and the approximate cost by a main dealer.

  Shortly after buying my 306 in 1998 I had the problem of the airbag warning light coming on and was told it needed a new wiring loom at the front (appartently it was too short from the start in many 306's) and although it would have been done under warrenty I couldn't face the trauma!! They fixed the fault which they said was on the seatbelt pretensioner connection which did the trick for 3 years but it has started coming on again now.

  with the weather predictions I am giving serious consideration to winter rubber. what if any, is the difference between a winter tyre and a M+S tyre ? I've looked at the ADAC test results but I would expect germany to get much more snow than we do, so are they applicable ? where is a good source for winter tyres (Ripon/york/teesside area)?

  I am after buying a second hand car soon, namely a 2005(ish) Honda Civic Type S - although I haven't found one yet. Am I likely to either get more for my money, or have more choice in cars, by waiting for the new registration mark in September?  Just wondering if dealers wil lower prices of older cars, or will have new motors in that have been part-exchanged for a brand new model?
• Ford Fiesta 98 - Fiesta Heater Valve 21 Feb 2010 (Forum)
  Hello.. I have an S reg ford fiesta, recently my heating died and I replaced the heater valve; which cured the problem. Now, after about 3 weeks the heating is only blowing cold AGAIN. I've checked the valves connected, the 2 valves from the engine are hot, the two valves going into the car are cold - So the problem is halfway (Heater valve unit :/) Unless, is there anything else that can be causing this?

  Hi folks, I am going to change the MAF on my 1.9 Tdi PD 130 BHP VW Bora,because it`s surely faulty(Limp mode happened twice in the near past,cleaned out the MAF then went well again). So can anyone tell me which MAF shall I buy? I am going to buy a BOSCH part but I don`t know the part number.

  From OBD I read the error P0100 = Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Malfunction Looking at the live data the only strange values were: - "Air flow rate" always shows 0g/s - "Calculated Load" is always 0% I assume that the problem is the MAF sensor or wiring. Is there any other possible reason for this? THANKS
