The company has been quick to emphasise that the training will focus purely on safety and no commercial pressure will be put on pupils to buy cars. According to Department for Transport statistics, one in five of all reported personal injury road accidents in 2011 involved young car drivers, with 1552 were killed or seriously injured. On a downhill ‘ice’ covered slope a car with winter tyres behaves as a car with summer tyres would on a wet road. It’s possible to steer and stop relatively safely and avoid obstacles. Meanwhile, on summer tyres there is shockingly little traction. -

Bromley Pageant Sunday 14th June 12 Mar 2009 (News)
