Dealer attitude on internet bought car? 3 Mar 2005 (Forum)
Has anyone recieved any bad vibes or service from their local dealer when taking their car in for a service (or problem that needs to be looked at) after taking a test drive with them and discussing a price only for you to buy from a internet broker because of a better deal? I'm a tad paranoid about the dealer not doing a good job if he knew he lost out on a sale after letting me test drive their car!! -

Astra road noise 4 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Hi, I've got a 10 year old Vauxhall Astra Auto 1.6 and it seems the road noise has increased gradually over the past few months. My parents say I'm paranoid, but it's driving me insane. Tyre pressures are fine - it just seems to be the noise of rubber on tarmac that's driving me mad. Is this a common problem with my line of Astras, or is it something else that I can have fixed? -

5th gear and RR Phantom test 20 Mar 2003 (Forum)
Sorry to all those of you who are, like me, fed up with constant foglight threads but couldn't let this one go...... OK so it was a little bit misty but was that R-R driving round with its front fogs on illegally or are those actually the dipped head lights? If the latter why spend £1/4m quid so you can drive around looking like a duh-brain Nova/reverse baseball cap refugee. -

Tyre wear on Audi A4 11 Feb 2003 (Forum)
I calculate my 2002 2.0 front wheel drive A4 will need replacement front tyres around 25 000 miles. Nothing unusual in that. However, I checked the tread depth on the rears they look like they will need replacing at the same time. All other 2 wheel drive cars I have had gave around twice the mileage on the un-driven wheels compared to the driven ones. -
2 new tyres - on the front or rear? 7 Apr 2002 (Forum)
It appears that when fitting just 2 new tyres these should be put on the rear, regardless of whether the car is front or rear wheel drive. My car has front wheel drive, and I would have thought that new tyres on the front would give better steering, better braking and aquaplane resistance in the wet, and a lower risk of a puncture (which from experience I prefer in the rear).
