Citroen Xantia (1993 - 2000) - 99 2.0 switch on dash? 8 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Helo...can anyone tell me what the switch on my dashboard is that has a circle with a T in the middle and an M on the side of the circle ? It is to the right of the air con switch and the owners manual has the switch for the Hyrdactive suspension in the same place but in the manual the symbol on the switch is different with no letters, just a symbol which looks a bit like a spring. -
Peugeot 406 (1996 - 1998) - 1997 2.0 radiator temp guage 26 Feb 2009 (Forum)
hi i have a petrol 406 with air con and had a big stop light come on yesterday. took it to the dealer who ran it and told me the head gasket might have gone, radiator leaking and colling fan not working. however i put oil in it and thats ok but now my temp guage goes over 90 when doing only 3 miles. -
Mitsubishi - In the current climate, is this a good deal? 13 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Dealer's offer: £2,500 for my car and £3k on top for the Colt. The Colt has parking sensors (which I don't particularly want!) and air con (which I do want). The Colt was on for £6495, deal effectively makes the Colt worth £5495. Good deal or not a good deal? Comments please. I'm thinking of haggling for the £185 service package to be thrown in for free also. -
Jaguar X-Type Estate (2004 - 2007) - 05 2.0d 2 faults 3 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Brought a 2.0d jaguar estate in April. Everything seems find(except for a noisy air con unit). I now have two small faults, rear door won't lock and now windscreen washer is not working. Pump seems to be working, and despite clearing pipes and blowing down main pipe till water bubbles out of reservoir it is still not working. -
MG MG ZR (2001 - 2005) - 2006 ZR - worth a punt at 3.5K 19 Sep 2008 (Forum)
I have spied locally a 2006(well registered anyway) MG ZR 105+. It has full electric pack, air con, leather, FSH and 20K miles for £3600. I think the dealer is closing down. I already have a TF and this will replace our ageing 214, so no stranger to MGR. Is it worth a chance on it? Will only be a stop gap until we get a MINI in 18 months or so? -
Stock of Small Diesel in the North East? 14 Jun 2008 (Forum)
Hi, I am currently looking for 3 x small 5 door Diesels in Band B with Air Con to replace our work Fiesta's. Everywhere is quoting 8-12 weeks, which is after our Fiestas are due Major services and MOT's. Anyone have any ideas who has UK stock in the North east? Any clues? -
Mondeo - high speed fan cycling on & off 28 Sep 2006 (Forum)
I have repeat of a previous small problem with my '02 Mondeo TDCi Ghia X, that of the high speed fan cycling on and off quickly when in traffic with the the air con / climate switched on. Please see the following thread: http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=31988 This was previously solved via a new fan resistor and has been OK for over a year, could the resistor simply have failed again or should I also check elsewhere? -
Wet rear footwell - vw passat 20 Jun 2006 (Forum)
I have inspected the door seal and there no signs of a leak, the car has never been involved in an accident, and all other areas of the car remain dry. A friend has suggested it may have something to do with the air-con heater outlet beneath the seat. But if so, why would the problem not occur with other heater outlets? Any ideas appreciated. -
Still a market for Peugeot 306s 9 Feb 2005 (Forum)
Sold for the asking price on Thursday night with 3 others wanting to come and see it on Friday / Saturday if it wasn't sold. I was completely honest with any faults (e.g. air con) and the fact that I've done the servicing for the last couple of years. The buyer told me how reliable Peugeot diesels are (conrods?) before handing over a big wad of £20s. Obviously not a backroomer. -
How much is it worth? 26 Jan 2005 (Forum)
She has owned the car since new and has only covered 2000 miles. It has a very high spec including CD player, Air con, electric heated mirrors. What sort of price could we get for a private sale? Thanks in advance Rich -
new car for just over 3 grand! 9 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Very little in the way of creature comforts of course but if you only need a car that gets you from a to b this seems a brilliant concept. Just think what can't go wrong....electric windows and sunroof, air con, power steering, etc etc. Of course it is not to be sold here as the Twingo wasn't, what a shame: Iwould have my name on the list presto. -

volvo evaporators 27 Jun 2003 (Forum)
what is it with volvo and air con systems?? ive just had the evaporator replaced under warranty in my v70 the same problem arose with a 850 i owned previously, talking to the dealer who carried out the repair he reckons a 4 year life is average, outragaeous in a car costing 30k surely its not beyond the wit of volvo to manufacture the damn things out of decent material? -
Fumes in Freelander 29 Jan 2003 (Forum)
It only smells for a few seconds just after you pull up in traffic or at a junction then goes away. If I put the ventilation system in recirc it stops it. The air con is off so I don't think it's coming from that. My local dealer (admittedly in France) is baffled and so am I Any suggestions as to the cause would be welcome Jules -

Astra 1.7dti fan relay fault 28 Jun 2014 (Forum)
I've had the fuel pump ecu replaced a new alternator and battery, yet the EML is still illuminated apparently reading fan relay faults the air con isn't working either. I've replaced the fan contol unit with a second hand one and still have the same fault could I have two faulty fan relay units or is there something else I should look at. -
Chrysler Town and Country 24 Aug 2013 (Forum)
We had seven of us and we were given a Chrysler Town and Country about the same size as an Espace I guess. Easy to drive with everything electric including sliding side doors. auto lights, air con was great. getting in the drivers seat was an art and a large person might not manage! The 3.6 petrol was giving around 20 mpg but at $3.50 a gallon I didn't care. with no lane discipline required there was no road rage and any navigation errors were soon reversed with a traffic lighted u turn. -
Nissan X-Trail - Aircon Testing 19 Aug 2012 (Forum)
I am now £70 out of pocket and been quoted £1300 to repair it all. Has anyone else experienced this? Are they right or am I being conned? -
Ford Focus 1.6 Fuel Consumption 7 Nov 2010 (Forum)
I find the fuel consumption fairly heavy on this car: It's just reached 5000 miles and it's still only returning just under 30 mpg at best. It's got Leather heated seats and Air con etc: But even if it's driven gently with all of the electric gooodies switched off, it's still quite thirsty! Does anyone have similar experiences with this engine? Cheers - Jon S
