The car ended up in America but returned to the UK in 2016 and the detailed restoration was completed two years later. It wears a period correct colour scheme and is powered by an 1840cc Cosworth engine. -

1939 Fords were big news in January when the late Boyd Coddington's customised versions made megabucks in Barratt Jackson's Scottsdale Arizona auction. This car runs a 359 inch Chevy putting out between 350 and 400 horsepower through a 350 automatic with Lokar shift. Instead of a transverse leaf it has custom independent front suspension with Mustang disc brakes and a heavy duty 9" Ford diff. -

VALUES STILL UNDER PRESSURE IN AUGUST, SAYS BCA 10 Sep 2008 (News)
This represented a fall of 3.7% from the £4,949 recorded in July on stock that was of a similar age and mileage profile. It is the second month running that values have been below the £5,000 threshold. Average performance against CAP Clean stabilised at 90% for the second month running. After falling quite sharply in July by £329 to £5,860, average fleet & lease values fell by a more modest £74 to £5,786 in August in a month with similar age and mileage profiles. -
BCA Bridgwater Classic Auction Results 4 Aug 2007 (News)
Essentially original throughout, this Ford was presented needing a complete repaint but was fully running and was driven into the auction hall. Offered with an extensive history up to the late 1960s this saloon sold for a reasonable £2,850. The most modern classic sold on the day was the 1993 Jaguar XJS Convertible. -
