• Vauxhall Vectra C - Battery Drain 23 Apr 2016 (Forum)
  Hi Guys I have had a slow battery drain on my Vectra for about a year. If left for about 1-2 weeks its goes totally dead. Have replaced battery and still same thing happens Today I have investigated it a little bit. I found that F31 in the engine fusebox was drawing 60mA when the car was asleep.

  They tell me I need a new door latch but I am reluctant to spend any money on the car as I am selling it for Spares or Repair. They refused to fit an isolator switch to enable me to stop the fault from draining the battery when the car is not in use. Their reason being that "they think" the ECU has a back up battery so I will only wear that down if the main car battery is disconnected. Does any one know if a Mini One 2003 contains a back up battery within the ECU??

  hi my next door neighbour is always at my door for a jump start he says every time he charges his battery its always dead again in the morning.he has put a brand new alternater in and bought two new batterys and its still the same. I had a look at it and put a 20amp tester on it to see how much currant it was drawing and it blew the fuse!.

  So I checked my Haynes only to find out after reading half the book that it was for our old R reg fiesta not this one. Any ideas what I should check next? Battery terminals appear to be fixed ok. Is it easy to check continuity between the battery and the alternator? Remember I don't have access to diagrams to see where items like the terminals on the alternators are.

     This is JUST THE COST OF THE BATTERIES, and they still have no way of recycling the batteries once they are no good, so not even eco friendly as the media would have you believe.

  I was starting to get battery warning light on dash if engine was off but Stereo on (cleaning inside car etc) It does a lot of short distance stop starts. I was going to ask for assistance in getting battery out but as it turned out I had a 9 hours drive on Monday anyway.

  Attempted battery change DIY style. I checked for written instructions before commencing and I've done this once before, however, I connected the battery the wrong way round and sparks flew. I connected the battery correctly and the car starts and drives fine.

  I hardly ever use my car recently but need it to be ready to use in case of emergencies. So, as you would expect, the battery has packed in. I'm about to fit a new one and to prevent damaging that one, I'd like to know your opinion on... Roughly how much should I drive my car to keep the battery in good condition?

  my battery keeps going flat when left overnight or for a few hours ..nothing obivous left on car runs well with no other problems ..halfords thought it might be the starter motor causing it but wouldnt put there neck and say for definate ...the battery is discharging as soon as the engine stops ..they put a volt meter on it and you could see it dropping quite quickly when in the car so something is drawing the jiuce ...they said to take to main honda dealer as they will have the equipment to trace but anybody any other ideas ??

  I have a Volvo 900 series that has been converted into a Hea*** for my business. A week ago I replaced the battery and now find that it is not holding it's charge. I have had it checked for the Alternator and the Solenoid and everything is fine. By use of a power pack I can get enough power into the battery to activate the central locking system, once the central locking is activated the engine will start.

  None of their batteries do. Does anyone know whether they are indeed calcium? On checking the Euro Car Parts website (I have a branch nearby and they are open tomorrow) they too list the S4 among others, but again, no mention of a calcium alternative.

  Hi, Can anyone recommend a 'decent'  leisure battery for my 1975 VW Camper??  Ive had a couple of unknown brand 85A ones from a well known camping shop!  Which dont last long at all when in use & will only charge to 75% when charged off the van!

  Would disconnecting the battery mess up the NATS/Immobiliser? The key is not a remote locking type but has a little blue bit on its side, probably for the battery? Any help much appreciated.

  One morning the car would not start so I fitted a new battery and it started immediately. However, the next morning the battery is completly dead again - not even enough power to turn the interior light on or operate the central locking. I know to check the obvious such as the boot light etc, but I would appreciate it if anybody has any ideas or advice on how to track the source of the power drain.

  Bit of a long shot this. Need new battery for my Accord Tourer (2003) - bought a Bosch from Costco tonight - book did not show an entry for the tourer so took a standard Accord one. This does not fit in the space (too big) - don't suppose anyone knows which battery I need?
• mondeo key battery central locking 30 Mar 2006 (Forum)
  He says that the remote fob no longer activates the cental locking so he has to manually use the key in drivers door which will then activate the central locking ok. He has replaced the battery in the key fob but this has not changed the situation. However, his local Ford dealer says that he needs to have the key reprogrammed now that he has fitted a new battery? Can anyone confirm if this is likely to put things right or is there something else we could try first?

  I'm pretty sure that the battery on my 2001 Passat pdi SE needs replacing. Could someone answer these questions please? 1) How do you get the battery out after removing the large plastic panel - does the other plastic panel up against the windscreen have to be removed?
