                Jaguar XKR-S (2008 - ) - Warranty problem after service confusion. 11 Aug 2009 (Forum)
re not covering the work then I cant have the replacement car. So here I am. Car Less, well over £1,500 per month out of pocket that?s before sorting a replacement out and potentially having a bill of over 8k for the engine. Not bad for a days work. I guess what I really need is the Jag dealer who did the service to step forward and stamp my book to say the 10k one was done.

Mercedes Benz CLK W208 (1997 - 2002) - Advice on dealin with bad service from dealer 9 Jun 2008 (Forum)
The Manager told me the following: The car had just come in in part-exchange, this was born out by the fact it had not been valeted yet. The car had been supplied by the dealer to it?s previous owner four years previously and he had now brought it back and traded it in for an E Class They already knew about the suspension and it would be checked and rectified The car would be subject to a 144 point check, and would have a new MOT The car would be given a 6 month warranty I returned 1 week later to have another look, the car had now been prepared for re-sale, looked stunning, and had just had new front springs fitted for which I was shown the receipt.

Help me narrow down these choices for me please! 23 Aug 2025 (Forum)
BMW 5 Series 2015+ ; very solid engines, much more spacious than a 3 Series or C Class. Surprisingly cheaper/more available used than the 3 Series or C/S Class. Some even cheaper than 3 Series. Merc E Class 2016+; Probably the most luxurious feel, more roomy than the above listed. E220D supposedly solid engines, more things fitted as standard, though the most expensive out of the ones listed above.

Honda Accord 2006 mk 7 - Shock Absorber with Headlight Level Sensor Bracket 31 Mar 2025 (Forum)
Bought a new Sachs Shock for my mechanic to fit but he's had to put the old one back on as its missing a bracket that goes up to what we've identified is the levelling sensor for the Xenon HID headlights. The bracketv s welded on to the side of the shock so cannot be transferred, and the new one has this pointy but that locates it in the hub fork which is welded on so would be in thexway if we tried to cut off the one on the old shock, and my mechanic is unwilling to do any modification.

                Mazda 3 & battery / tracker issues 13 Jul 2023 (Forum)
Eventually he complained to the finance company who agreed a full refund and compensation. Meanwhile, Mazda found the problem(s)..... A tracker fitted to the vehicle. Apparently, AC had bought a load of Mazdas, given them to a leasing company who had fitted trackers to them and later returned them to AC, but they hadn't removed the trackers or told AC about them (apparently).

Dacia Sandero - advice on broken down car from dealer 8 Jan 2021 (Forum)
My elderly parents (in there 70's ) brought a second hand 65 plate dacia sandero 0.9 petrol in late august from a dealer. I did a bit of research and reviews suggested the dealer seemed ok but a bit of habit not supplying or honouring warranties.

Assuming a budget of £10k maximum what would you buy to keep you in oil soaked nirvana and away from the wife during lockdown? Found a few interesting things on sale but all things equal I’d love an 90’s hot hatch like a late 205 GTi 1.9, XR2i, Golf MK II GTi 8v, R19 16v or possibly a more mundane but rarer and often historically more important mainstream car that no one is preserving like a Rover R8 or a Ford Mondeo Mk I.

Garage hasn't fixed car properly, what to do? 8 Feb 2019 (Forum)
That was 2 weeks ago and now the light is back and the same error code is back, it isn't hesitating but I am guessing, s before, that comes next. I am frankly furious at having to pay for 2 jobs for 1 problem as it is, now and suspicious this work was misdiagnosed and never really needed doing. I'm looking for advice on how best to treat this from here.

                How/Where to report a scammer? 24 Dec 2018 (Forum)
He said he wanted £500 back as I had sold him a car fradulently, or he would sue me. I told him he was talking s*** & I wasnt gonna refund anything. Now, 3 days later he has advertised the car for sale, at £7000, calling it "the best example in the UK" and "only 69,000 miles", making NO mention of the serious mechanical issues.

Ford Focus Zetec - ECU failure not covered by warranty 21 Mar 2018 (Forum)
On December 7th Ford finally informed us that they were unable to diagnose the problem without it costing a further £627.98 (£400 to flush the cooling system of oil residue – which Stewart had already done whilst replacing the engine(s)) and £227.98 for performing diagnostics for an injector or PCM problem). We declined to pay these costs, collected the car from Ford on December 18th 2017 and were charged £42.49 – a ‘token gesture’ of a 50% discount for a “Vehicle Health Check”.

Any - Cars for tall people (6' 4")? - and my experience. 26 Mar 2017 (Forum)
My criteria for a car is as follows: 1) Smallish - so I can park in tightish spots (Fabia, Jazz to Focus, Civic) 2) Good on the MPG - I don't want a thirsty car 3) Something half reliable - something that isn't French :-s 4) Cheap - I'm not fussed about the make as I'm not a label person I guess I'm looking for suggestions like, for example, "I would've thought the Ford Focus has lots of legroom but it doesn't", or "a Honda Jazz looks tiny but it has lots of legroom".

Ford SportKA SE 1.6 (2004) - Temperature light keeps coming on, but not overhea 24 Mar 2016 (Forum)
It was cold from overnight and I had drove just 1 minute when the temperature light came on. It wasn't even hot. It was a 20 minute drive to the garage, 3/4's of the way there I could hear very loud bubbling inside as I stopped at the roundabout and I could see some very slight steam coming out. Giving the garage all the information and pulling the car into their bay with some steam coming off it, I left it with them.

Honda Jazz - Rear Ended at a Roundabout 12 Jun 2015 (Forum)
The 19 year old had apparently admitted liability. All was fine until now, 7 months later, the little s*** is now saying he has "changed his mind" and he wasnt even the one who crashed the car. When you google his details, you see that he sold the accident damaged car just over a month ago.... and thats when he magically changed his mind about what happened.

Lamborghini factory tour 25 Aug 2014 (Forum)
As usual my wife sits in the rear to stop squabbling and despite huge amounts of luggage, claims to be almost as comfortable as in my S-Max. Driving at minimum highway speeds of 75mph (in fact usually 133kmh as per the Sat Nav) and including some stop start driving, with five people and luggage I have achieved over 52mpg over 700 miles.

Forthcoming changes - Car Excise Duty 17 Jan 2014 (Forum)
These provisions enable the Driver and Ve hicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) to collect VED via direct debit monthly s hould motorists wish to pay by direct debit. Currently VED can be paid by cash, cheque and credit or de bit cards but none of these payment methods allow the cost of VED to be spread.

any - another one of those 'which car' questions! 5 Jan 2014 (Forum)
Did test drive an Auris about a year ago but found it gutless, tinny and a bit bouncy. We're only early 50's so maybe not ready for a Honda Jazz just yet? Thanks in advance Steve

Skoda Roomster Se TSI 86bp - The first new car purchase 16 Jun 2013 (Forum)
We went to the local Maidstone dealers and test drove all found nothing wrong with driving the Ix20 and the Venga in fact quite a nice drive but found that the boot space was not big enough to accomidate a rather athritic old colly and a colly cross lab also the dashboard controls resembled a fighter plane and rather confusing. We then went to the local Maidstone Skoda Daler and they led us have the Roomster S with theTSI 86 bp engine for the morning to road test so we were able to drive it on motorway, A roads and minor country roads. I was an experience, lovely car to drive. It has reasonable acceleration we got to 80 mph without knowing it on the motorway, great visability all round as you are seated higher than a normal car and a great experience.

Mercedes E220 CDI SE Tip - Company Car Allowance - Tax Implications 17 May 2013 (Forum)
Hi All Bare with me here, I tend to go on a bit! I currently have an Audi A3 Sportback S-Line 1.4 TFSI Auto company car, this goes back in September. I cover 20k per annum roughly. I have recently become a father and am finding that space is previous, cloth seats get stained, and sports suspension + low profile tyres are killing me.
