I did a straw poll amongst friends and nobody has had to replace a duff battery recently; some cars over 8 years old still have their original batteries fitted. As far as I am aware battery technology has not changed so why the dramatic improvement in reliability? Or has reliability not improved? -

Hello all, In the near future, I think I?m going to replace the battery on my 1993 Polo, as the one I?ve got is getting on a bit, and can\'t hold a strong charge for more than 24 hours. So, the question is, which is the best battery to fit. Costco have great deals on Bosch batteries; with mine costing about £25 to £28, but Motorworld have Lucas batteries starting at £19.99 for a \"standard\" battery. -

The battery on my Honda Civic has been playing up and needs replacement. On searching on the internet there are different batteries available like Lead Acetate battery (45 Ah) from Halfords (£59.99) who fit it as well for a nominal fee of £4.99 or others avalable online like Alphaline for £47 with a power of 45 Ah or Varta Battery with 45 Ah power for £52 or Numax for £45 with 35 Ah I do not know which one to buy and how easy or difficult it is to fit a battery by yourself. -
