Lurking unexpectedly at the back of the Black Horse snatchbacks at Top Car today was this 02 reg latest shape CLK 240 Elegance. It came with no docs, unwarranted miles, nor even confirmation that it was a UK car and not an import. But it was loaded up with leather and satnav. -
New Micra Goes Coupe Cabriolet 17 Sep 2002 (News)

Car manufacturers develop high speed EV charging network 3 Nov 2017 (News)
The network will use the Combined Charging System (CCS) and offer a charging power of up to 350kW, which should significantly reduce the time it takes to charge an electric car compared to existing systems. A BMW i3, for example, could be charged in less than five minutes, compared to the current 40 minutes at today's 50kW charging stations. The project - named IONITY - is expected to add hundreds of high-power charging stations across Europe and the UK by 2020. -
Mitsubishi fans gather for Model A centenary 6 Oct 2017 (News)
Classic Mitsubishi enthusiasts gathered to celebrate the 100 th anniversary of the manufacturer’s first car. They were joined by Car SOS’s Fuzz Townshend and Tim Shaw at the centenary celebrations for the Model A. Taking place on Saturday, 30 September, Mitsubishi Motors’ Centenary Tour saw the television celebrities flag away 50 classic Mitsubishis from the brand’s UK HQ in Cirencester before drivers weaved their way through the picturesque Cotswolds to the finish at Shelsley Walsh hill climb. -
E-type with just 1733 miles on the clock could make £150,000 29 Jun 2017 (News)
It was never fitted with a stereo and the blanking plate, speaker grilles and aerial bung remain in place. The car retains its original 'matching numbers' engine and manual gearbox. Rare Cord to go under the hammer at Florida sale 25 Feb 2015 (News)
A fact that makes them highly desirable in the eyes of enthusiast collectors. This particular car boasts a custom body and hasn’t been seen in public very often. With the Historic taxation class for Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) now being returned to a ‘rolling’ system that comes into effect once a vehicle reaches forty years of age, plenty of attention has been lavished recently on those 1974 cars that will now be ‘tax-free’. But what about later models? Fortunately, it’s still possible to save money on VED as long as you pay close attention to engine sizes. With pre-2001 vehicles’ taxation classes being dictated by engine size rather than CO2 emissions, opting for a car with an engine no larger than 1549cc means you’ll pay £145 for a year’s VED rather than the £230 charged for vehicles with larger engines. -

The Liver Run remembered 13 Aug 2013 (News)
I've seen this before on TV - the famous Liver Run, where two Rover SD1 police cars need to transfer a live human organ for transportation in a very limited amount of time. The journey takes place on 8 May 1987, and starts at Stansted Airport in Essex, and the traffic officer needs to drive the liver along some of the UK's busiest roads in the centre of London, to Cromwell Hospital, Kensington. -
