How hard can it be? 29 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Alf, at least on two separate occasions I\'ve asked you to watch your language when posting. it\'s also been pointed out to you that there is no point trying to defeat the swear filter by swapping characters in the swear words. I simply cannot be bothered editing you post with several \"pink fluffy dice\" comments. -

Car Speed Limited by GPS 3 Jun 2003 (Forum)
Did anyone else just hear the article on Radio 1's Newsbeat (12:55)? Was about a car that uses GPS positioning with a database of speed limits, to limit the speed of a car. The reporter was in a 30 zone in Leeds and put his foot to the floor and the car wouldn't go above 30! -
Your first 'love' 10 May 2003 (Forum)
When I was a spotty youth in the mid 70's, I fell seriously, seriously in love with a particular type of car and still admire its looks and styling all these years later. The car ? A Vauxhall Royale Coupe - sleek looking yet pratical (just like my wife!). -
MOT self pre check 23 Apr 2003 (Forum)
But what kind of reliable ideas concerning the probably outcome of the MOT test can i get without the sophisicated tools that today\'s garages now use, i.e. emissions control, brake alignment, front light alignment? thanks -

It's a motorhome & some of you guys may have tinkered with 'em..... 1997, rear disc brakes, & I am assuming "drum in hat" for the handbrake? What is the correct way to strip it all down? The n/s handbrake does not work, & it's not the cable-for once. OR, dare I ask: is there a truck site to equal this mighty affair?! Many thanks Hedge -

Focus Quirks? 22 Oct 2002 (Forum)
Windscreen washer reservoir will start overflowing down rear of wheel arch when filled over a certain point? (Or is mine leaking?) 2. Fan speed decreases when heated screen(s) and/or headlights turned on? (Do I have an electrical problem or do all Focuses do this?) 3. Engine speed increases momentarily when clutch is depressed? (Someone suggested this was for reducing emissions.) -
Balancing Act 1 Oct 2002 (Forum)
Pressure in N/S/R tyre has been going down 3-4lbs per week. Independent tyre depot identified poor seating of tyre on rim as the cause and offered to clean the rim, re-fit and re-balance. I had to stop one mile from depot and to my surprise noticed that there was no 'balance weight' on the rim. -
Driving and phones ... 14 Aug 2002 (Forum)
I was getting pretty bored with the conversation, and trying to think of an excuse to get him off the line, when I heard the "woowooo" of a police siren over the line. "Oh S***, I've got to go," he said... Later he phoned me back - plod had nailed him R300 (ie 75 litres of fuel) for the offence... -
Citroen C5 Automatic Gearbox. 6 Jul 2002 (Forum)
Does any technically minded person know if this problem can actually be corrected as the various software updates from Citroen have made little difference. Car is four months old. What do I do next? Peter S -
spark plugs 23 Feb 2002 (Forum)
About 3 weeks ago one of the Denso Spark Plugs fitted in my Toyota Carina 2 3 S-FE engine exploded. The centre porcelain core and centre electrode parted company from the screwed part of the plug which remained in place in the cylinder head. I have e-mailed Denso Europe and Japan but have not had the courtesy of a reply. -
Rover 400, appetite for light bulbs 19 Dec 2001 (Forum)
I have changed many, many bulbs front and rear during the 1 year of ownership of my P Reg Rover 400. A colleague with the same model (S Reg) has changed bulbs about 6 times. I see these cars running around in twilight with very often, one of the brake lights or side lights not working. Is this typical of this car or am I becoming paranoid ? -

Mondeo v Rover 600 22 Oct 2001 (Forum)

Both are £4,000, the details are: Mondeo 1.8lx, S Reg. 5 Door, Met. dark blue, Air Con Rover 620 SLD (diesel), R Reg, Met. Charcoal, Air Con Which would be the best bet for another 30,000 trouble free miles over the next three years??? -
Another oily question. 7 Mar 2001 (Forum)
I have another question to ask about oil. I have a Wolseley 18/85 'S' mk 2 on a 'K' plate. It uses 20/50 motor oil and it does burn a bit of oil. I have been offered a drum of 30/40 engine oil for free and i was wondering if it would do any damage to the engine. The engine is an Austin 1800 'B' series with a 3speed auto box.
