• 87 Polo 1.3 - Headlights blow wiper fuse 15 Jul 2007 (Forum)
  Hi all, I have a 20 year old VW polo 1300 coupe S, it's a good runner but recently every time I turn the headlights on it blows the fuse for the windscreen wipers. Could it be any number of things or is it likely to be something fairly straight forward?

  ve got no heaters. They blow very well but it's just cold air, not hot. Can you tell me what the problem is? It?s got climate control, and the temperature runs at 90 degrees if this helps, thanks for any suggestions, messa. {Shouting, ie typing solely in upper case amended. DD}

  I've got an S-reg Audi A3 1.8T 3dr, and having put the driver's seat forward one day, it won't go back into place again. The rear of the seat clicks upright, but the entire seat rises up (as when you try to put it forward), and won't stay down.

  I have an 'S' reg diesel manual estate that has done 120000 miles now so feel a change of oil is due. Am I right in thinking that the box is refilled through the level plug on the front face of the 'box? Can see no other way.

  In the room with next weeks junk, sitting in all their glory, were two beautiful immaculate old Daimlers, I think from the 50's, plus one outside in the yard. All are according to the staff, in full working order .They are, sadly, being sold by an executor. Usually if they have a car or van it is from a bankruptcy and go for peanuts - wonder what will happen to these beauties.

  Taking them apart the reflectors do not look overly dull and the glass is not dull or marked. A new seat would be hideously expensive but the danger of getting s/h ones from a breakers is no telling if they will be ok ,bearing in the mind the current ones appear to be fine. Any suggestions ?

  i purchased this as a e-bay headgasket gone job but it was the oilcooler, the only prob with it is the clutch is v-heavy and the change from 3rd to 4th is a bit odd,i find it easier to double declutch and also going from 2nd down into 1st it`s some times reluctant. myfirst thoughts are that i may need to rebush the g/change and can i adjust the clutch or is it automatic?? cheers Ray

  I've been watching a BMW 528 for nearly a year now on a local forecourt, it's that lovely light green, S reg and in good nick but no-one's buying. It started at 6295 and is now down to 4995 but the important thing is it never moves. Does there come a point where a car is so used to doing nothing that all the parts stop working?

  There was a feature in last weeks press regarding poorly designed patio/French door locks, that thieves have found a means of quickly breaking in and making them totally ineffective. I wondered if any B.R`s read this article and would know where I could get further information as to which companies would have installed these locks, which I believe were of German/Danish origin.????

  I am about to replace the 2 x front tyres on my S60. The Pirelli P6000's have been OK but I wonder if it is worth trying something different if people can recommend a quiet, safe alternative. Size is 205/55 R16 W rated. Grip takes precedence over life as I would prefer to stay on the road better rather than replace the tyres at a later interval.
