• Volvo S40 - HPI Check / National Mileage Register 9 May 2014 (Forum)
  The car is under MOT from earlier this year & I could phone back to ask the vendor for the either the  MOT Test Number from the VT20 or the Document reference number from the V5C registration certificate  (in order to confirm the odometer reading via the DVLA website):  But my questions to the forum include: How reliable is the National Mileage Register?

    If the issue is all about possible pollution of the environment, cant a person collect and appropriately store the waste auto fluids ( depollution ) and hand them over to a 'Registered' ATF, along with V5C, when they come over to collect the vehicle shell, so that they can dispose respective wastes / recyclables accordingly ? This way EPA's fears are laid to rest, DVLA formalities are taken care of, ATF has scrap metal & waste oils to sell, I have my parts..... and everyone is happy !

  :) I almost purchase a nice 09 Honda Jazz from a nice chap from France who had "all the paperwork in his name" and after spending £10 on HPI check and £50 on rail fares and 2hrs each way turned out to be a Romanian guy with a a car registered to some African guy who was not even present, a V5C missing part and the lies piled up very quickly.
