That is until disaster struck at the Stelvio pass and the car spun over the edge of the notorious mountain road and hurtled downwards before coming to a stop in a bank of snow.

  The scrappage scheme Is an idea that Kahn’s predecessor, Boris Johnson, also backed – and a move that could put ‘youngtimers’ such as the Mercedes-Benz 300D (W124) at risk. The idea was a platform of Kahn’s manifesto for the mayoral elections., Kahn said he would, ‘Call upon the Government to introduce a diesel vehicle scrappage scheme to support those who wish to change to a greener car.’ It’s propsal that is backed by the Environmental Audit Committee, which recommended a diesel scrappage scheme to help tackle a ‘public health crisis’ in air pollution.

  The immaculate 1961 Series I E Type 'flat floor' roadster hammered at £135,000 A 1960  XK150 SE DHC amde £86,000 (est £65-75,000) A 1991 Ferrari Testarossa made £80,000 (est £50-70,000) but top billing in price terms went to a rare 2009 Ferrari Scuderia 16M which scuttled to £190,000.   A 2008 Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren in jet black  powered through its estimate to £220,000 At the other end of the price spectrum a 1959 Austin Healey Sprite made £22,500 (est 14-18,000) and an ex-police Austin Mini Moke surpassed expectations at £15,200.

  The racing drivers were joined by noted motoring journalist Steve Cropley driving a McLaren Supercar, and John’s daughter Edwina driving a Mercedes-Benz Gullwing 300SL, plus two Grand Prix motorcycles from John’s past.   Leading the way was an Aston Martin Course Car driven by David Barzilay.

  Rare Fisker Tramonto Makes £50k at BCA Bedford 13 Jan 2012 (News)
  Star of the show was a 2006 Fisker Tramonto - the only right hand drive model in existence and one of just 15 built.  A true supercar, the Tramonto is based on the Mercedes-Benz SL 55 AMG and was created by the Californian based company founded by former Aston Martin head designer Henrik Fisker.  The car was painted in Titanium Quartz Metallic with two-tone Sand interior in finest Italian leather and finished with Aluminium and bare Carbon Fibre touches.  Following some very competitive bidding in the auction hall and online, it sold for £50,000, calculated as 172% of CAP.

  Fisker Tramonto to Star in BCA Lex Autolease Auction 21 Dec 2011 (News)
  .   The Fisker Tramonto is the only right hand drive model in existence and is one of just 15 built and its original retail price was in excess of $250,000. The Tramonto is based on the Mercedes-Benz SL 55 AMG and is coachbuilt by Fisker Coach Build of California – the company established by former Aston Martin head designer Henrik Fisker, who includes the DB9 and V8 Vantage on his CV.   This car was first shown at the Top Marques show in Monaco and is painted in Titanium Quartz Metallic with two-tone Sand interior in finest Italian leather and finished with Aluminium and bare Carbon Fibre touches.

  The September sale sold two Ferraris – a  612 Scaglietti 5.7 F1A Coupe and a 1991 Testarossa 4.9 Coupe that had just one owner from new, four Bentley, nine Porsche, nine Range Rover, 22 Audi, 33 Mercedes-Benz and nearly 250 BMW models.
