I have just checked the oil on my 190bhp model and found it to be a bit "foamy" and caramel coloured. What could the problem be please?
  • Mazda Mazda 6 (2002 - 2007) - Turbo Diesels - same afflictions as TDCI? (Vol 3) 17 Mar 2012 (Forum)
Having spent over two grand on the car over two years, I feel like sending the car for scrap, cutting my losses and running but I feel someone out there might have experience of this and may be able to offer me some advice and a possible way forward. (I like others have noticed Screwloose seems particularly knowledgeable about Mazda diesel problems). In the meantime I am going to contact my local mazda dealer and any other local mazda specialists to see if they can shed some light on this problem. I would value any contributions to this problem Many Thanks Sharkey
  • Genesis gv80 Vs Mazda CX-60 11 May 2024 (Forum)
Hi    I'm torn between 2 cars and unsure which to go for I've test drove both and do have a preference but have doubts about the brand.    I've always had Mazda's mostly the Mazda 3 but need to size up now and the CX-60 would be ok for our needs but am thinking if waiting for the CX-80 to be realised as it gives us more space but I've also test drive and checked out the genesis gv80 which I did prefer the interior was beautiful and it was more comfty to drive in but I don't know how reliable they are and have read mixed reviews on Hyundai since I know they own genesis.
  • Mazda 3 2.0 2014 Skyactiv - Mazda 3 2014 - Harsh Vibration pulling away 20 Jan 2022 (Forum)
Hi, My 2014 Mazda 3 has become increasinly annoying in the mornings with pulling away in 1st on cold/damp days only.  Its basically as described in the 'What to watch out for' section -  14-9-2016:  Report of juddering from drivetrain of 2014 Mazda3 2.0 Skyactiv when letting clutch out first thing in the morning (particularly when damp), even on gentle take-up with few revs.
  • Mazda 3 - Rust in Mazda 3 24 Nov 2021 (Forum)
My wife’s 2012 Mazda 3 has had light rust in some of the seams under the bonnet for a couple of years. This has been contained by Hammerite. This week it was MOTd by our indie and he gave an advisory for rear subframe rust (“rear subframe is corroded in places”).
  • Mazda 6 - Mazda 1.8 Petrol: Any good reasons why not? 19 Sep 2021 (Forum)
Hi, Still looking at options and have never driven the Mazda 1.8 petrol before. There are a couple of decent cars locally with this engine fitted? Any good reasons to avaoid or is it perfectly decent? I don't expect F1 style performance, just safe and predictable and enough to drop a gear and overtake comfortably at the speed limits.
  • Mazda 6 2.0TD - Mazda 6 TD: Another Suction Control Valve!? 2 Feb 2012 (Forum)
Hi all, I know what your all thinking! Another Mazda 6 issue! Basically, my 6 has been doing the usual stalling/trouble starting/rough idle recently. Yesterday, it failed to start completely and still won't now. I'm pretty sure its the dreaded SCV thats causing the issue.
  • Mazda Mazda 6 (2008 -) - New front tyres fitted. Now st.wheel offcentre??? 5 May 2011 (Forum)
Mazda 6.... 6 months old and under 20,000 miles on the clock. This morning it drove absolutely fine. 2 new front tyres were needed so called in a national tyre chain's mobile tyre fitting service, who put on 2 Good Year Eagle NCTs.
  • Mazda 6 1.8 TS - Think I've settled on a Mazda 6 17 Jun 2010 (Forum)
Hi there I think I've decided to go down a more reliable/conventional route and abandon ideas of Fiat Cromas and Diesel Laguna tourers in favour of yet another Jap barge, this time a Mazda 6. I've found a 2005 post-facelift 1.8 TS nearby on 47K which I should be able to get for about five and a half grand (need to check up on the service history first). Is there anything specific I should watch out for on this model?
  • Mazda Mazda 6 (2008 -) - 08 2.0d Extreme Diesel Dilution - DPF 11 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Hey everyone, i have posted previously about the problem im having with my Mazda 6 2008. To cut a long story short the problem i had of the car over-accelerating on it's own was appartently due to a DPF problem which let diesel in the oil. • Mazda 323 (1998 - 2003) - 01 1.6 Warning lights illuminated - Brake problem? 7 Aug 2009 (Forum)
Hi All, I'm posting this on behalf of my friend's 2001 model year mazda 323. Every now and then there's a vibration through the brake pedal and a few warning lamps lightup on the instrument bridge. Those lamps which lightup: The yellow ABS warning lamp, the TCS lamp and the handbrake 'on' lamp.
  • Mazda Mazda 6 (2002 - 2007) - 05 2.0 Uneven tyre wear at the rear 7 Aug 2009 (Forum)
I'm having no other noticeable suspension or brake problems, so is it simply a case of getting the tracking/toe/camber etc checked ? Would a typical ATS/Kwik Fit-style tracking check allow and include adjustment at the rear of a Mazda 6 or should I take it to somewhere which can do a proper 4-wheel alignment ? Cheers.
  • Mazda Tribute Mystery 25 Jul 2003 (Forum)
It's very badly rated in What Car ? (only been in the UK since 2001 -so how come do they give it such poor marks for reliability ? -Mazdas are reckoned to be very reliable) but why ? Also, this car has never been advertised by Mazda, hence the massive reductions (£2,500) of 5 months ago. they must have sold only a few hundreds of them in the UK in the last 2 yrs.

  • Mazda 6 Skyactiv Petrol 9 Jan 2024 (Forum)
So started a new thread as I think I've decided on a petrol Mazda 6. I like the reasons SLO76 reccomeded this. Only question is, how does the drive and performance of a naturally aspirated petrol compare to say s turbo charged petrols, or turbo diesels as they are all I've driven for near on twenty years?

  • Mazda B-Series - Low emission zone fine 15 Apr 2019 (Forum)
Hi all, I've just been slapped with a £250 fine for inadvertently driving within the London low emission zone, in my old Mazda pick-up. I was under the impression that you were issued with a warning for the first time you were picked up driving in the LEZ (not the reason I drove within it BTW)                                                                                                                   Anything I can do about it?
