BMW 3 Series Touring - Need advice on buying a BMW 3 series 27 Apr 2019 (Forum)
i'm looking at spending up to £5k, maybe a little more if something fantastic shows up, so realistically looking in the 2008 ish region, I thought a 320d would be a safe bet, but looking into all the timing chain issues with the N47 engine, i'm a little nervous about it I study at the university of Cardiff, but work/live all around the south west so often doing a mix of drives between 10 minutes and 4 hours, 10k ish miles per year Every forum I read tends to disregard anything below 3 litre, often saying the 320i engine is underpowered? I currently drive a 2003 1.4 astra, and feel i'm not really going to be disappointed with this engine? -
EU cars/drivers in UK post Brexit - any idea? 22 Mar 2019 (Forum)
Out of idle curiosity, I wonder what will happen in a no-deal scenario. The UK has always been fairly relaxed about EU driving licences, as one example, which can be kept until expiry (which for a German driver can be for life; a friend of mine in a car hire once hired to a driver from Leipzig with a DDR-era driving licence!) -

Vauxhall Insignia estate 2 litre diesel 2014 - Vibration at 70 mph 14 Apr 2018 (Forum)
As my new company car is due any day, I am not too bothered, just curious. Another symptom with the insignia is that to drive, it is the noisiest car I have ever driven. Could this be a clue to or a symptom of the vibration? With the vibration at motorway speed, it certainly isn't a pleasant driving experience. -
Hyundai i10 - Unsure if I have cancelled insurance 18 Mar 2018 (Forum)
Last year when I finally passed my driving test I bought a car and used compare the market for my insurance quote. One of the questions asked was do you have any no claims as a named driver. As I was driving on my husband's policy for over a year and his policy had 1 years no claims I input this. -

Toyota Aygo 55 plate 997cc - Sudden loss of power 14 Dec 2016 (Forum)
I`ve just picked the car up today having had the bodywork repaired , a new radiator , grill , bumper beam etc. Driving home the car was fine then suddenly I felt all the power go and had to drive back at literally 5 miles per hour with the car stuttering and vibrating. There are no warning lights lit up , so no guidance what the problem might be ? -
Vauxhall Vectra 1.9cdti - Vectra C Engine Revs on Its Own 10 Nov 2016 (Forum)
This happens randomly and there is no discernable pattern. Also the car tends to surge forward when I am driving for no apparent reason. Sometime the engine seems to temporarily lose power when I am driving. In summary I have: Replaced the EGR Valve Cleaned the Idle Control Valve (Throttle Body) Confirmed the swirl flap rod is still in place No Fault Codes Present Cleaned the MAP Sensor Installed New Air Filter Can anyone help me with the problem? -

N/A - Taxi/Mini Cab Licences 11 Aug 2016 (Forum)
The fact that some new drivers seem to have little local knowledge is not to bad in these days of sat navs. However what does concern me is increasingly poor driving standards shown by many drivers. Speeding, tailgating, agression, pulling out of junctions when it is unsafe to do so, etc. seem all to common. I thought it might be limited to my area but when I visited Folkstone recentkly I saw three examples of dangerous/inconsiderate driving by taxi/mini cab drivers in just over an hour. -
Ford Transit 2.4 Diesel Liberty Start - Ford Transit 2.4 Diesel, ASM ECU Fault Codes 22 Jun 2016 (Forum)
When attempting to drive my motorhome, I select the required gear, Reverse or Drive on the selector, the vehicle will move approximately two foot, then the gear trips into neutral. The first time this happened I had to get the van recovered to my local garage who diagnosed the following two fault codes from the ASM ECU: U1900 CAN Communication Bus Fault P0560 System Voltage Malfunction The garage has investigated these faults and cannot find any problems, they cleared the fault codes from the ECU and the vehicle drove normally, however after standing for a couple of days, the problem recurred, this has now happened three times. -
BMW E46 316TI - Car Hesitation Issue 11 Jun 2016 (Forum)
I'm erring towards the lambda sensor but which would be the most likely culprit? no warning lights on dash or anything either. it's driving me mental and is almost dangerous when pulling out of junctions as it has virtually no power! Help! -

Happy Pink's Juke going back today 16 Apr 2016 (Forum)
Nothing I can think of has gone wrong. It has averaged about 31mpg. What can I say - I liked driving position, the leather seats and general internal trim have worn well although the door card plastics are cheap and nasty. I hate the harsh ride but I suspect the Evoque she is getting will be no better based upon the test drive we had. -
Hyundai i800 - Hard to get out of 2nd, 4th and reverse gears. 9 Apr 2016 (Forum)
I'm far from clued up with regards to car mechanics but it doesn't feel like gearbox problem, maybe linkages? I do find that it's easier to drive if I carefully place it into the problem gears, the effort to get out of gear is then noticable but managable. If I just pull strainght down from 1st to 2nd or 3rd to 4th then it's much harder, as though the gear stick has gone too far.
