Citroen ZX 1.9TD - need to prime fuel before starting 1 Nov 2010 (Forum)
Had this problem a while. So far have changed all pipework in engine bay, leak off pipes, priming bulb and O rings on fuel filter housing. Even so, after about 4-5 hours standing it needs to be primed before it will start. When priming I can hear the fuel filter housing refilling with diesel. Can anyone give me any pointers on this one? -

How to use the least fuel in a set period? 4 Aug 2008 (Forum)
While driving my recently born baby boy round to settle him down, I started wondering how to use the least fuel while keeping the car moving. I'm not interested in the mpg, just in limiting the fuel used. We have some quiet estate roads where I live where it's safe to put the car into 1st and drive itself on tickover. -
Fuel saving tip for lorry drivers. 13 Jul 2008 (Forum)
The leader of the fuel protests suggested on the radio today that they may have to begin French style blockades to get the government to realise how much the fuel prices are hurting the haulage industry at the moment. I have a suggestion, it's called slipstreaming. -

Fuel filter change - 1.8D Fiesta 1996 2 Feb 2007 (Forum)
How difficult is it to change the fuel filter on a 96 Endura engined 1.8 diesel Fiesta? I have done oil & filters on the car several times, next one due in a couple of weeks, and thought I'd stick a new fuel filter on at the same time. I don't have any hose clamps though - can I make do with pliers or a small pair of grips? -

The bit on the left shows the different ambient temps tested: 20, 28 and 33 degrees. The middle bit gives a percentage fuel consumption increase at 50 km/h. -

Petrol can vs diesel - any difference? 28 Oct 2003 (Forum)
, but is there any technical difference between the 'cans'? Apart from the very obvious potential for putting the wrong fuel in an engine, is there any difference between the green plastic for petrol cans and the black used for diesel that would preclude their use for the other type of fuel? i.e. would one type of fuel actually damage the plastic intended for another type of fuel? -

Fuel economiser. 12 Sep 2007 (Forum)
I have just received an advert. through the door for a "FUEL ECONOMISER & ENGINE PERFORMANCE ENHANCER", which will give me up to 25% more MPG, and more power. I don't think so. "Up to" clearly includes the figure 0 - possibly, the thought strikes me, this could be negative!
