  .’ After Honda, the most ‘pothole-proof’ manufacturers are Toyota and Hyundai, with less than 2% of their cars suffering axle and suspension damage attributable to potholes and other road defects. Conversely, Chrysler, Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover models are the most likely to be defeated by the UK’s pothole-riddled roads, with more than 10% suffering damage each year. (Though, of course, Land Rovers are the cars most likely to be employed tackling deep ruts and pot-holes.)
