A smart 73,000 mile 1996 993 Carrera 2 Targa Tiptronic fetched £34,100 while a similar 993 Convertible which had been a Category D insurance loss early in its life made £18,150.

Sir Ben Ainslie lead home hundreds of veteran cars on this year’s London to Brighton run. More than 400 vehicles braved wet and blustery conditions on Sunday, November 2, to complete the run. The 118th run set out from Hyde Park at day break and headed 60-miles south through London and onto a stormy Sussex coast.

    But if demand increases, the report warns that today's electricity demand could increase by nearly a third, with estimates suggesting that peak demand could increase by 24GW by 2050. This could lead to huge powercuts as the electricity network fails to keep up with demand. To counter this, experts say the development of a new smart grid needs to be accelerated. Rather than relying on a small number of power stations, a smart grid would also take power from a large number of smaller providers, including renewable energy such as wind farms and solar panels.

  • Toyota and Kenworth prove that Hydrogen Fuel Cells can power heavy duty electric trucks. 23 Apr 2019 (News)
    The new truck is based on the Kenworth T680 Class 8 model, fitted with Toyota’s fuel cell electric technology. Pioneered by the Port of Los Angeles, with leading support from Toyota, Kenworth and Shell, it provides a large-scale ‘Shore-to-Store’ plan and a framework for freight facilities to structure operations for future goods movement. The initiative will help reduce emissions by more than 500 tonnes of carbon dioxide and 0.72 weighted tonnes of other harmful emissions, including nitrous oxides, reactive organic gas (ROG) and PM10 particulates.

  • Bentley triumphs in Road to Saigon endurance rally 6 Mar 2018 (News)
    The 1925 Bentley Super Sports of Graham and Marina Goodwin reigned supreme on the Endurance Rally Association’s The Road to Saigon rally. Holding their lead on the Vintageant category from the start line in Singapore right the way to the finish in Saigon (or Ho Chi Minh City as it is now known). Former Peking to Paris entrant Andrew Webster and his co-driver Ian Robertson took second place in their 1939 Chevrolet Master 85.
