A fair price? 28 Sep 2002 (Forum)
V.A.T & Labour (2 Hrs) to replace a Brake Pressure Valve Limiter for my Clio 16v 1992. I was assured this was a genuine Renault part. Was this is a fair price to pay? The total charge was about £190. Should I be able to see this part if I look under the car. If so, where do I look. Thanks Johno -
Espace Diesel overheating 11 Jul 2002 (Forum)
Our 2000 Renault Grand Espace 2.2 DCi started overheating and the engine cutting out in the Pyrenees last year. Garages in Spain and the UK failed to find any cause for this and the problem has increased, the final straw being the cutting out of the engine in slow traffic on Piccadilly! -

All Makes - Recovery Statistics 16 Apr 2021 (Forum)
All the usual suspects figured in his statistics and I suppose is good for business. No 1 Fiat followed by Citroen, Peugeot and Renault. Hardly ever sees any Japanese cars. -
Montego - a rarity now - for sale 15 Oct 2019 (Forum)
Never liked the Renault 17 but that Montego is something I’ve fond memories of. I flogged loads of them in the 90’s and rust aside had not one bit of bother. They were much better cars than their reputation suggested, all drove well and they were actually pretty well made once you got past the 1987 facelift. -
Grand scenic 1.9 2004 - New clutch biting point 6 Nov 2017 (Forum)
So after 80'000 miles the clutch went and we had it replaced at our local Renault dealer. Since we had it back we have noticed the biting point on the new clutch is very low maybe 2 inches from the floor. Is it normal to have it this low. All gear changes smooth. No issues with drive and no wierd noises. -

Mesrine public enemy 20 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Just arrived in from seeing "Mesrine public enemy No 1" at our local art house cinema. Set between 1973 and 1979 it shows a terrific variety of 70s French cars. Renaults 8, 12, 14 & 16, Peogeots 404, 204, 305 and 504, plenty of Citroens of course and a Chevrolet Corvair even makes an appearance. Great for car spotting and a superbly tense and exciting film. Highly recommended. -
Clio Dynamique or Punto Sporting? 29 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Hi. I'm looking to buy either a Renault Clio Dynamique or a Fiat Punto Sporting (both with 1.2 engines and registered in 2001). Besides the Punto being faster, which is the better car between the two and why? Do they handle well? Are they both reliable? -
Downsizing? 26 Oct 2008 (Forum)
In the current financial climate I'm considering downsizing my car. I have a 1.4 Renault Clio Expression (56) and I'd like something less powerful and cheaper to run. No doubt others will have the same idea... What would be the best way to go about this? Sell the car myself and get something cheaper, or can you trade in for an older cheaper car and get money back? -
Questions about PCP 11 Feb 2008 (Forum)
I was just looking at the Renault clio for £99 per month and it seems very good deal. Just a few questions about pcp as i have never done it before. who is responsible for servicing/tax/mot/repairs/tyres etc of the vehicle and is it at my expense? -
1995 Espace head-lining 7 Aug 2007 (Forum)
I have a friend (amazing, I know) with an old Renault Espace. The headlining is mostly rigid but with what looks like three areas of carpet squares. These squares started to sag and drop so we used a spray glue (intended for for carpet tiles) on it and it seemed ok for a while. -

Genuine or aftermarket Brake Pads - Clio 23 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Hi, I can get aftermarket pads for my Clio for about £10 give or take and genuine Renault ones for £38 give or take. I heard that aftermarket ones tend to be softer so it might be false economy? The genuine ones on the car will last about 36,000 miles I would say, given they have done 28k and there is about 5mm of material remaining.. -

Can anyone tell me how to remove the steering wheel and air bag from my 2003 renault megane? The airbag light has come on and the rotary connection has fallen to bits so i need to replace it but ive never had one apart b4 on this model. Auto Electricians 17 Jul 2006 (Forum)
Hi all, Just wondering whether any one could recommend a good auto electrician in the Hove / Brighton area? Need one for some Polish friends who have a Renault Scenic with dual fuel, a full tank of gas, but the sensor does not allow for the gas tank to be used. They have been told (in Poland) that it needs to have an update into the software and so I'm looking for someone who could do this for them. -
Megane II Problem 1 Feb 2006 (Forum)
Checking my oil at the weekend like a good boy, pulling the dip-stick up I got a little surprise - it snapped off half way down! Having spoken to Renault today, they claim that this would be classed as wear & tear - however, it seems a little odd to me that one should snap after 18 months. Any opinions?
