    The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has announced that new car sales in the UK increased by 13.4 per cent, with 25,443 more cars sold compared to June 2012. The rise was boosted by private sales, which accounted for more than 21 per cent of all new registrations in June.

    Obviously not previously owned by any Tom, Dick or Harry, this 'garage found' 1965 Austin Mini Cooper Radford was once the property of Beatles manager Brian Epstein.  The car may be the only unrestored example with Beatles connections. After Epstein’s ownership, the Mini passed on to George Harrison’s brother, Peter Harrison, who kept it until December 1971, suggesting that the Beatles probably came into contact with the car.

  • Jim Clark to be honoured at Silverstone Classic 9 May 2013 (News)
    Born in Fife, Clark won the Formula One World Championship title in 1963 and 1965, and was the first British driver to win the Indianapolis 500, again in 1965. At the time of his death, when racing a Formula 2 car at Hockenheim in Germany in 1968, he had won more Grands Prix (25 from just 72 starts) and pole positions (33) than any other driver.       Famous F1 cars once raced by Clark feature in two hugely evocative races organised by the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association (HGPCA) for Pre-1966 Rear Engined Grand Prix Cars; they are among an amazing collection of more than 100 of the world’s finest F1 cars still competing at the Classic.
