Ford C-Max 2008 1.6 TDCI zetec - Engine Malfunction code 5 Nov 2012 (Forum)
Engine malfunction message suddenly appeared after filling with diesel. Thought that I had put the wrong fuel in but no it was actually diesel that went in Stopped the C-max and when fired up again, the message reappeared The engine was running as normal, and was wondering whether there is a sensor that could have been disturbed as we gone over a large speed bump earlier in the journey Travelled back from Edinburgh to Notts with the message still there, but there was no lose of power or lose of fuel effiency Does anyone know what it could be The C-Max has done 80k in mileage -

Audi 80 Mk II - Engine cut out. 13 May 2012 (Forum)
It will bimble along at 30 or 70 mph but hit the gas and the car starts to jolt to what seems like fuel starvation. Ford - All - Ford Endura DE 1.8 non-start 14 Nov 2011 (Forum)
This at first did not achieve anything, BUT then a split was spotted in a small hose on the drivers side of the block. It was taken off, and when cranking fuel started to sputter from it. The end was snipped off, and it was re-attached to the spigot. Started first go. :o) I can only assume that was a diesel supply/return line, and the split had caused an air lock/fuel to return to the tank. -

Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec Petrol - Ford Focus (2000 X reg) Running Lumpy 27 Aug 2011 (Forum)
Hi, My focus has started having a problem where it runs lumpy, the symptoms I have are: Fuel Gauge is inaccurate and only moves between 1/4 and 1/2 When petrol tank is fuel the car feels like it's holding back above 5,000 RPM When petrol is low the car won't gain any power when starting uphill and just limps, this also happens when driving normally and can be difficult to start. -

Mileage and the subsequent panicking 3 Jun 2011 (Forum)
This thread is by way of The_Grouch's 'how many miles...' thread. How far can you get AFTER your fuel light comes on or your needle is at zero? This'll be akin to a straw poll of various marques. My Mazda's fuel gauge is terrible and I am too afraid of breaking down on my commute to let it drop below 1/6th of a tank. -
Mercedes-Benz E-Class W123 - Mercedes W123 Pierburg 175CD Carburettor 14 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I have a 1985 W123 running on M102 2.0 engine on Pierburg 175CD carburettor with a red damper cover. I notice that my car is severely underpower and heavy on fuel (less than 18MPG average). Also, when i accelerate in full, there will be a lot of black smake coming out from the exhaust. Ive adjusted the air/fuel mixture on the warm water autochoke but is still the same. -

Ford Focus - driving a diesel 17 Dec 2010 (Forum)
I always put the key in and foot on clutch and allow the lights to come on the dash and wait a few seconds for the to go out, always wait for the glow plus light to go off too in warm or cold weather. i tend to give it 10-15 for the engine to settle before i make my journey. I have a habbit of changing up in gears at 1,500rpm and get very good fuel economy. is this bad for the engine? average fuel 55mpg for a 2.0l Diesel i read somewhere about driving a diesel above 2,500rpm to allow the valves or something to rotate in the engine as they do that a higher revvs and not at lower revvs? -
