  A 19k mile BMW 630CI bid to £37,750, which is more than £10k short of list, but explained by the fact that BMW has just announced a refurbished Efficient Dynamics range. While over in the Motability section 708 mile Citroen C4 Picasso 1.6HDI EGS 7-seater sold for £14,500. You can forget the list price of £18,000 in this case because Citroens are always price to be discounted. But £14,500 at least means that C4 Picasso diesels are holding up for the time being.

  A Peugeot 402 Eclipse was the highlight of the French carmaker’s stand at this year’s Techno Classica. This example of the 402, which was launched in 1935 to compete with the Citroen Traction Avant, boasted a coachbuilt body that transformed it from a saloon into a coupe-cabriolet. But while the Traction Avant boasted a revolutionary monocoque chassis and front-wheel drive, the 402 was based on much more conventional underpinnings.

  Jaguar tops JD Power survey for dealer satisfaction 23 Aug 2013 (News)
  The average rating for dealers was 78.5 per cent and there was a noticeable  improvements for Citroen, which rises to 15th in the rankings. Bottom of the survey was Chevrolet (68.7 per cent) while Alfa Romeo and Fiat managed a poor 72.7 per cent and 75.7 per cent respectively. The analysis is based on the opinions of 13,511 customers who had a service experience with their dealership within the past 12 months.

Cheapies included a 74k mile 98R Citroen Xantia Activa, sold for £850, a 64k mile 97P Fiesta 1.25LX 5-door on a fresh set of tyres, sold for £1,575, and a 43k mile 98R Vectra 1.8LS, sold for £1,700. A 62k mile 98S Peugeot 206 1.1 3-door with a big sunroof wasn’t cheap at all at £3,425, and a very early 53k mile 2000X X5 4.4 bid to £25,850, which is a bit more than the £24,700 a 68k mile 2001Y X5 4.4i bid to in Hall 1 two hours earlier.
