• Jaguar XF Luxury premium 2.7D - Intermittent starting problem 9 Nov 2016 (Forum)
  I am experiencing intermittent starting problems. When following correct procedure for keyless starting, I.e foot on brake and pressing start button engine turns but does not fire - second attempt invariably starts engine although rev counter takes a second or two to show revs. Any ideas what could be the cause?

  The engine management light comes on, on a regular basis.. the vehicle seems to perform ok and when i press the brake pedal the engine management light goes out...? Has anyone else had this problem or have any idea how to solve the problem..? Many thanks

  Just had my 335i seviced at 20k 3.1 yrs old, by a friends garage. He can't access the electronic service history, but has been able to update oil, filters, brake fluid, etc. but not the service history, using 3 different plug in devices. Any ideas, as the BMW agent wants up to £80 just to access the servive history and update !

  Hi, as a newby to this car, I would apreciate some info on the back lights namely, how come there are LHD and RHD back lights surely they are the same ie. sidelights/indicators/brake/fog/reverse. how are they different on european cars but  also can they be adapted to fit our RH drive cars. I get it for headlights facing opposite way. Thanks.

  The garage has cleared it several times, but it re-appears after a short time. Apparently the vehicle drives well & the oil,water& brake fluid levels are O.K. Any ideas anybody please

  my rec unit recently packed in as getting no brake lights, mechanic has put a replacment in and working fine now but my boot lock will not open or my intermittent wiper, the repalacment came out a 1 year newer deisel vectra. does this need programming to match my car.

  Tried to start my ford ka 2007 this morning and the dials are clicking and shaking.The trip counter has reset to 0.No life at all when trying to turn car over.Oil, hand brake, abs, temp light all on.Any help would be appreciated

  Got a taxi from the airport in Amman, (jordan) It is a fixed price and has not changed for years, Undertaking, cutting up on inside outside,driving above the speed limit only feet from the car in front, last minute braking, the works, did wonders for my heartrate! it was a hyundai sonata (i40) 2.0 turbo. since looked it up, 274 hp! WANT ONE!

  Hi folks. I've just had the Stop light and brake light come on. According to handbook it's maybe fluid level but the level is fine. Since it came on its went out but then 15 minutes back on. My mot last week put front pads and discs as advisories.

  My partners '02 1.7Dti Astra LS is showing the dashboard engine management light- its not due a servce, there seems to be nothing wrong with the engine (no problems with engine running and no unusual noises) . The strange thing is that the light goes out when braking to a stop. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks

  I've heard that you can test (without a meter), but, I cannot seem to find instructions online. I presume it may be a sensor. Both rear brakes are slightly binding - an easy fix, but if abs prob is expensive the car may not be worth fixing.   Many thanks Max.

  In the What's Good  section of the Golf MkVII Estate review under trim levels there is a reference to "......a leather trimmed handbrake grip".  Does this mean that the new estate does NOT have an electronic parking brake? This is the one feature that puts me off buying this car. I am too old to cope with change or am I fussing about nothing?

  I have recently used my car in the snow, after spining and slipping home then the ESP, Brake fluid & ABS light have come on and remain on, I thought disconecting the battery may reset the fault as I have not hit anything but the lights remain on, any ideas to resolve and what costs may be incurred.

  I've recently purchased a mazda 3, 100k - Ocassionally say every 2-3 mins on a longer stretch of road at a constant speed there will be a momentary lack of power.   Almost feels like light braking momentarily but it's definately not.  Is this the clutch slipping?  Someone mentioned perhaps a clogged air sensor?   Any info greatly appreciated!

  When I reverse (auto box) up an incline I get a distinct creaking sound from the front of the car (but not always on a flat surface).  I thought it might be the front disc pads binding but stabbing the brake doesn't stop the creak.  Could it be the engine mounts or maybe a drive belt?  The car has done 90,000 miles and has a full BMW service history.

  There is talk of quality control. Another staff member's Dolomite had numerous faults on delivery. Non - functioning brake lights, heated rear window, heater blower switches, imbalanced wheels, leaking screen, rear end clonks and no handbook nor cigarette lighter!

  Recent mornings of cold weather has resulted in the handbrake of my two year old Volvo C30 sticking. No not the brake pads freezing onto the discs but the handbrake will not release. Later in the day when it has warmed up things are back to normal. Currently awaiting a call back from my dealer. Any one else having problems.

  after having had a new dual mass flywheel and clutch fitted to my car should the pedal be very light (considerably more than before) should the biting point be towards the top of the pedal travel ie 3/4 of the way up and should this have affected my brakes making them less responsive / sharp.
