infuriating foibles that would stop you buying a car 20 Apr 2014 (Forum)
I'm not talking Electric Handbrakes, but little things, individual to specific models that you might only find out after a decent test drive. Example: I am currently overseas and driving a very nice, rented Hyundai i35. It's a saloon based upon the i30. I have two complaints. Firstly the centre air vents are too low and freeze your hands before they cool your face. -
Volvo XC90 - NIP and Section 172 charge 21 Nov 2013 (Forum)
I need to write a letter to the court and try and get this dismissed as surely they cant charge me with speeding if we dont know i was driving, and that has not been determined yet. Plus they shouldnt charge me with failing to provide information as I kept replying and asking them for advice. help? J -
Audi A4 Avant B6 2002 - Power Steering Issues 3 Aug 2013 (Forum)
It could be just that I've noticed it after suffering the noise the failed alternator pulley made. interestingly my OH drives the vehicle probably more than me and has no problem with the car at all. Any thoughts greatfully appreciated. -

Toyota Yaris - New diesel Yaris worth a punt? 4 Apr 2013 (Forum)
I've read mixed comments on the fuel economy of the yaris and equally on the wisdom of investing in modern small diesels. I cover around 20k year, motorway and town driving. Any opinions much appreciated. -
Volkswagen Polo - Car suggestions Polo sized run around £1600-£2400 30 Jan 2013 (Forum)
4 years ago I bought a 2001 Polo 1.4v 5 door, my daughter learned to drive in it, and has driven it "as hers" since she passed her test about 2 years ago, Her studies and her work take her all over South East of England, sometimes she drives, sometimes she uses the train, the trains where she is based are terrible, it took her 6 hours to get from Brighton to Canterbury, which had nothig to do with snow just a while ago, The Polo is now needing new gearbox and clutch the cost of which is much higher then the value of the car. -
Insurers make my blood boil 20 Dec 2012 (Forum)
They did me the 'favour' of refunding the premium without an admin charge!! I could have been driving unwittingly without insurance. Luckoily no need to panic as the renewal is not till mid January, but I am sure I could have gone for them if I had the time. Bah Humbug -
Toyota Yaris - Engine warning light - P0420 code 4 Nov 2012 (Forum)
Driving back home tonight the engine warning light came on. I checked the code when I got home and it was P0420 which I gather is 'Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)' Any suggestions on what to check? -
Nissan X-Trail 2.2 Di Sport - Black smoke and lack of power at low revs 16 Sep 2012 (Forum)
At under 2500 revs my X-Trail lacks power and blows out black smoke, above 2500 revs when the turbo kicks in it drives normally. When reving the engine whilst stationary the turbo seems to be spinning all the time, even from low revs, but while moving it doesn't seem to get any turbo boost until 2500 revs. I have to change down into a low gear before the car will gather speed, a friend in the motor trade drove the car today and said I'm expecting too much from it, small engine, big car etc but in a modern vehicle surely I shouldn't have to drive around it's shortcomings? -
Toyota Land Cruiser Amazon - Help ! Advice sought 14 Aug 2012 (Forum)
Hi All, I need some genuine honest pointers please. I drive an 09 plate CLK and unfortunately every time my missus travels more than 3 miles she gets excruciating pain in her lower back. As it is a company car I am not due a change for approx another 24 months so my thoughts were to buy a second hand comfortable second car. -
Ford Transit Minibus 15 seater - Second hand vehicle with fault 18 Jun 2012 (Forum)
I bought a second hand minibus less than 48 hours ago. Queried sluggishness and black smoke coming from the exhause, with the buyer on the drive home (over the phone), he said if it was something like the turbo the warranty would cover it. Put the minibus in the garage this morning for a once over and faults have shown up, inlet manifold split, abs sensor wires have been tempory fixed (the abs light was on during test drive so I asked for it to be sorted). -

KIA Picanto - New car purchase procedure 1 May 2012 (Forum)
Is the delear correct. Not entirely happy with paying the full amount and not driving it away. What happens if it is damaged between the day I paid and the day I pick it up, which due to,work commitments will be about a week? Have their been any changes to how a V5C is completed? E.g dealers won't do this until the balance has been paid? -

Volvo V50 or Audi A4 Avant? 26 Jan 2012 (Forum)
Likewise is the Volvo 2.0 diesel the same as the focus durotec 2.0 unit? Which car is the best all round drive - we are after decent low speed drive and good mid range punch - like the golf. What are the petrol units like in either? Dont fancy the running costs on a Volvo T5 or audi 2.0 TFSI but the costs of the 2.4 petrol Volvo or 1.8 T A4 seem to be more acceptable........ -

Winnebago - Camper vans in the US 26 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Word of warning, though; I wanted a big, rock star Winny, not some mutated Transit van. Which is fine, until you realise what driving a 31 foot bus is like, on roads that are not any wider than over here. With your backside 6 feet off the ground and no experience of driving anything that size. Has anyone else dealt with Road Bear recently?
