2003 Ford Mondeo 2.0 Tdci 130 - 2003 Mondeo 2.0 Tdci 130 Trusty Glow Plug Light! 13 Feb 2012 (Forum)
The first time this light came on, on a long run, and would not go away on restart, I took the car to a Ford garage and they told be the fault code was "Knock threshold reached on number 3 injector", so after the first recode (which cleared the error for about 5000 miles), when the error came up a second time (this time on "number 2 injector"), I bit the bullet and had all four injectors and the fuel pump reconditioned by a very reputable firm, at this time I also replaced the DM flywheel (which was filling my starter motor full of grindings) and the fuel filter. The filter was clear, as was the fuel pump, so my fears of rubbish coming through the fuel line were removed. -

Vauxhall Corsa CDTi 05 plate - V Bad fuel consumption + minor electrical niggles 26 Jan 2011 (Forum)
Surely to god I would notice a leak like that. I wondered does the ECU do anything with fuel (DH talks about the mix on his old escort when he was younger I know this is fuel v air - won't entertain cars now you can't tinker). I wonder because I have had a series of minor and inconsistent electric blips. -
Ford Escort - 95 1.4i Acapulco - Electrical problem... 27 Mar 2010 (Forum)
This is done through the output of R2 (the dubiously named 'power hold relay') - The output of R2 is also used to pull up the fuel pump relay (R3). This would seem to explain my fuel starvation symptoms . While fault/short has been developing it's been pulling current and away from R3 and de-activating the fuel pump. - I currently have a short either in cables or systems mentioned above down circuit of F13. -
Vauxhall Astra F (1991 - 1998) - 96 1.7 Diesel. Wierd fault: fuel stop / cut off so 28 Nov 2009 (Forum)
My neighbour's 1996/7 Astra 1.7 TD has a strange problem developing (I think!), related to the fuel cut-off solenoid(s?) on the fuel pump. He has had difficult cold starting, (turning over for ages, unevenly, then eventually starting with a cloud of smoke and still uneven for a few seconds), so I checked the glow plug feed / timer, and then replaced the glow plugs. -

2003 1.8l Mondeo Estate, 144k miles - Ford Mondeo Mk3 Hesitates and Stutters during acce 23 Apr 2015 (Forum)
Answer from the other web page below: It could be the coil pack, they are incredibly sensitive to damage if the engine is turned over with a plug lead disconnected - they generate such a high voltage without a plug to limit it, that the internal insulation breaks down. It could also be a partial blockage in the fuel system, if changing the fuel filter disturbed some crud in the pipes. A tank of Premium unleaded (eg. V-Power) should help that, they contain fuel system cleaners. Or put a dose of fuel system cleaner additive through it.. -
