  My air con has broken on this car and I have been advised that the repair is so expensive on cars of this age 2003 that it simply isn’t worth it. But the cabin temperature last summer was unbearable , but over the winter the heater would not work so I had the thermostat replaced.

  I had a leak in my Vectra last August which was correctly diagnosed on this forum as a blocked water drainer next to the air con intake which meant water was spilling into the car through the air duct. I removed the black rubber part that was blocked so it wouldn't happen again. I have just found water again in passenger foot well, not as bad as last time.

  That's how I know the fan is running and when I switch off the engine it usually runs for a few seconds and sounds like a jet engine.  I've got air con on this model and am aware that the fan will spin faster with this on but air con is not on when the fault occurs.  I'm really stuck as to what it could be.

  Hi all, The aircon in my 2006 Mk3 Mondeo has never worked since buying, though after reading that many people have had success repairing it by replacing the shim in the air con compressor clutch (see: http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=63198#m870733 ) I opted to give the potential cheap fix a go myself.

  Hi All.   I took our car to local dealer 3 weeks ago to get air con regassed - we bought it used in September and found out at the start of summer that air con not cooling (clearly we'd not needed it till then). After regas, it cooled for a day and then became less effective and was making some painful noises.

  I've boiled down the replacement options to a choice of either: - Part-ex it against a brand new Panda 1.1 with air-con; - Part-ex it against a a 3 year old (old shape) Fiesta 1.3 special edition (alloys, air-con, 20k miles). The new Panda will cost me UK£5000 plus the old Fiesta as trade-in. Buying the used Fiesta will cost me UK£4500.

  For no apparent reason and with no warning my heater (2000 Audi A4 Avant 2.4 petrol engine) was hardly working yesterday. The air-con aspect seems fine in so far as cold air can be produced, but even on a high heat only a little warm air was forthcoming - to be precise plenty of air flow but only a little heat. Engine water temperatures showed completely normal, header tank at correct level so nothing out of the ordinary.

    they go on and when the car is at about 40 you can feel it but when it slows down then there is no heat - or air con if it's on. HELP

  Can anyone help in giving me the procedure for changing the 3 drive belts (air con, alternator and water pump) on a 1.8T engine for a 99 saloon. There does not appear to be enough room to access the belts. thanks

  Hi, The interior fan on my mark 4 golf (the basic model, not the fancy automatic digital climate one) only works on full blast. The air con light comes on when it'd turned on, but no air comes out of the vents unless the knob is turned to the '4' setting. I''m seriously hoping it's a simple fix and a matter of a faulty knob... any ideas please?

  I am looking to get a Network Q Y Reg old shape Vectra (1.8 or 2.2) with air con, ABS a CD player, and 2 front air bags and less than 30k on the clock for a budget of 6k. I've only started looking this weekend, and prices on these kind of cars seem to be about 1k adrift. Could dealers be knocked back this kind of amount or am I expecting too much?

  We have a Mk5 1.9TDI, and lately the heater doesn't seem to be blowing any hotter that lukewarm (with and without the air-con engaged).  Coupled with the this, when you open the coolant expansion tank cap, there a sudden whoosh of pressurised air, and the collant level rises by about 2cm! Could there be air in the coolant system which is causing both of the above?

  Hi Guys Got a Pug 306 1.4 Meridian, Something strange is happening with the air con?? After a while it switches itself on!!!!!! The AC green light comes on the dash. It has happened once or twice before in the past, but this morning it happened 5 or 6 times within the 1st mile of my journey.

  When I put the heating on the front windscreen to clear it in the morning, the fan goes on full and the air con turns on. Wondering whether this is a fault or intentional ?
• Vauxhall Signum - SIGNUM/VECTRA Front Blowers not working 6 Aug 2016 (Forum)
  My front blowers are not working on my Signum, the only setting that works is the demist on front screen and when I turn that on then I briefly get air in the front blowers but that stops once the demist fully kicks in, I changed the green resistor but still no joy, so could it possibly be the actual panel unit? All the air con, demist front and rear work, its just the left(air direction) and right (speed 1-4) switches for air direction and speed not working.
