  • What I eventually bought 3 Aug 2015 (Forum)
The Qashqai+2 was very familiar as I had a 5 seater Qashqai for 3 years before buying my automatic Skoda when a shoulder injury stopped me changing gear. It is an ex motability car with 57000 miles on the clock but has full main dealer history as motability cars have to be returned to the main dealer for everything.

  • Toyota yaris 2011 - suggestions on a bigger car 5 Jan 2023 (Forum)
I am looking to get a bigger car,I have a 9 mo th old baby, two dogs and my Toyota Yaris a 2011 plate is doing very well for its age, under miles at 38,000,no issues and in great condition its just quite small.Am looking to get something bigger, something reliable, safe, an automatic would be a dream,I do not do many miles so a petrol would be fine.I will be trading my Yaris in and getting a loan for the rest but was hoping for something under £12,000 if possible.By suggestions?

  • ICE ban after 2020 - what ICE car to buy now 17 Nov 2020 (Forum)
I don't like EVs, hybrids & not even that keen on automatics What newish ICE car should I buy now? I was thinking that to avoid sinking like a stone in value it would have to appeal to petrol/diesel heads and/or be an aspiring future classic. Sadly can't be a sportscar with a hard ride or have silly low profile tyres.
  • Speed awarenes course and covid? 13 Jun 2020 (Forum)
Just passed a police officer standing in a crowd of people with what appeared to be a speed gun (no handle just a rectangular shape). I was probably doing about 34mph in a 30 limit. I was wondering if I would automatically get a fine and points as opposed to a speed awareness course due to covid restrictions? Not necessarily relevant to the question but he had a pointed hat and no vehicle or signs and was in a group so I wonder if he could have been "having a go with a local group to show them how to use a camera" If offered a course I would naturally choose that
  • Do dual-clutch autos wear tyres more? 7 Jan 2019 (Forum)
Presumably the much vaunted millisecond gear change results in a brief surge of kinetic energy from the engine suddenly spinning more slowly, causing a bit of wheelspin. I don't know whether the MG uses a DSG-type box or not, but it was obviously an automatic.
  • Golf MK6 - Headlights moving up and down continually 25 Oct 2018 (Forum)
The behaviour is evident when the car is stopped and the ignition is on (I can hear the two servo motors). I'm pretty there's no automatic levelling system with halogen headlights. The problem was not an MOT failure but it was noted. Has anyone encountered this before? Any suggestions to stop this behaviour? Thanks Joe
