Vauxhall Vectra C (2002 - 2008) - 2004 2.2 petrol - Excessive rear tyre wear 7 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Car is a 2004 2.2 Sri Direct.Car has covered 50k miles.Due its MOT so went over the car yesterday only to find that the Hankook Ventus Sports 225/45 x 17 tyres I had fitted only 15k miles ago have worn on the inside edge of the rears. Both showing similar wear but the nearside tyre is perhaps slightly worse.Previous tyres were 215/50 x 17 Goodyears and they lasted 35k.The car has never been bumped or to my knowledge, hasn't hit any potholes. -
Volvo S60 (2000 - 2009) - 01 2.0 turbo erratic idle whilst cold. 15 Aug 2008 (Forum)
The car has covered 91k mls. I also believe volvo intercoolers were prone to pin holes and corrosion on the diesel models, but does anyone know if this also affected petrol intercoolers as well. Thanks James slt -
Insurance Scam?? 3 Mar 2007 (Forum)
It took them 2 weeks to get the parts, but they were in stock (I checked) for 2-day delivery at the manufacturer's part centre. Then they took another week to fit them. And when I got the car back, they did not even replace the washer bottle but I was charged for it (and laboutrtoo): the old one's still in the car ('cos it's still covered in road muck, and is still dented after the accident). -
Fiesta '96(P) 1.8D takes ages to start! 10 Feb 2006 (Forum)
I have a 1996 (P) mark IV Fiesta with the 1.8 Endura diesel engine which has covered (allegedly) 50,000 miles from new. I have only owned the car a month and in that time had it serviced, which included oil & filter change, air filter change, fuel filter change, cam belt change, brake fluid and engine coolant replacement and today changed the glow plugs. -

He?s got the sense not to drive the car but he?s gonna learn pretty quickly that car ownership in the UK is no bed of roses. Cheers, Dave -

Audi 80 stopped! 11 Mar 2002 (Forum)
There I was, after a long hard week (Wednesday in Birmingham, Thursday in Bradford, Friday in Watford), cooking up a 'Kofta Bhuna', when the wife (some call them SWMBO, but I don't know what this means - is it Short Wife Might Bale Out? *having an amphibious car?*) called up to say that the car had broken down. Well, I put the cat out, put the lid on the cooking and went to investigate. A quick check with a key stuffed up a plug lead showed no spark. The engine turns over beautifully and (paranoia in charge) I even prised over the cam belt cover and *yes! -
Missing Data Sticker for imported Golf 16 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Has anyone else been in this situation and if so, how did you mange to register your car with VW in the end? I'm currently chasing Oneswoop who supplied my car to get this sorted but they are next to useless with their aftersales care.....still haven't got an owners manual after two months of asking :( Thanks Chi -
Reversing Sensors 30 Jun 2001 (Forum)
At £300 fitted it is rather rather expensive but it uses four sensors all mounted in the rear bumper and covers a wrap-around area to the side and rear of the car. The visual indicator uses a series of green, amber, and red lights to indicate the proximity of obstructions to the rear and side rear of the car in addition to the usual aural warning, I have found it to be extremely accurate and reliable and it has been an absolute boon in the A Class where rearward vision is poor. -

Hard Use Electric Car Range 16 Mar 2021 (Forum)
Anyone with an electric car got practical knowledge? Other times I've had e-car enthusiasts giving me favourable figures. A car to me is just like white good, it performs a function. I'd love to get an insightful answer to my question! -
Dealer hasn't settled finance on PX 9 May 2014 (Forum)
Don't want to give specifics in case I have to get legal people involved, but I recently traded in my previous car as PX for a different make/model at an independent dealer. New car is great, finance on new car sorted no problem. As part of the PX there was negative equity on the value of the car I traded in versus the PX valuation which I covered as part of the PX deal. -
Bought a car - how do I return it? 1 Feb 2016 (Ask HJ)
I bought a used Vauxhall Insignia two weeks ago. The sales guy told me that the car had a full service history and I paid for a two year extended warranty.... -
MG ZS - Am I just unlucky -is this warranty actually of us 3 Jun 2025 (Forum)
I have a 4 year old that has caused no problems at all until the weekend. The stop start activated at a set of lights and the car then would not restart. Being the weekend I had to have it recovered to home. It won’t start and in fact is really difficult to turn back off when trying to start it. So, two local dealers both agree it’s likely to be covered by the warranty. -

New Honda Civic - Hybrids failing to start in cold weather 21 Dec 2022 (Forum)
My colleagues new Civic which has only covered 300 miles since new failed to start and he has had to resort to his 06 Civic diesel while the main dealer sorts the problem out. They are claiming low mileage is the problem but the cold weather May having something to do with it. -
VW id3 22 May 2021 (Forum)
Not seen too many of these about until tonight while walking the dog. Now I think that most vw cars look well finished and quite classy, but these didn't. It was I guess, a base model in white with plastic wheel covers and happened to look cheap and nasty. Shortly after this I was passed by another higher spec version with alloy wheels, but this one was finished in what looked like grey primer with a black back panel, if anything it looked worse than the first one. -
Fiat 500 '14 DRL keeps blowing. 14 Jan 2019 (Forum)
I can barely get in to change the bulb, so checking wires isn't easy, but all I can see looks OK. Probably a short somewhere. Just to confirm - if a car has DRL's then they have to work for an MOT pass? Could I not just cover them up and say it doesn't have them? -
Ford Fiesta 1.4 2008 - Coolant leak Mk6 (late 08) Fiesta 20 Nov 2018 (Forum)
This did happen a little while ago and it was leaking by the thermostat which was fixed, had a look under the car and noticed some where the leaking coolant was settling, along the bottom of the cover for the cam belt. No sludge or anything like that in the oil and can't see any other leaks so any ideas where it is leaking out and how long it'll take to fix?
