  A few months ago the battery was drained and Green Flag said that this could have been the cooling fan draining it after the engine was switched off. (this was during the hot spell). Is it a question of getting a new battery as this one doesn't seem to be able to hold its charge?

  When driving a automatic car battery dies due to alternator failure when driving up a steep hill, car cuts out and rolls downhill. Brakes do not work, steering neither, handbrake disengages, all due to battery being completely dead.

  I have been looking at maintenance chargers for the car if it is not to be used for a period or if it is used only for short journeys. I have seen the CTEK MXS 5.0 but I am not 100% sure if it can be connected to the battery whilst connected to the vehicle. It looks like it can as it comes with ring terminals for the battery terminals. I asked the company but all I got was the product information. Does anyone know or can recommend a suitable charger?

   Having posted recently regarding a parasitic draw [which I still have] I have been removing the battery connections to conserve power. Having reconnected the battery several times the radio comes on without resetting a code. This seems unusual as other cars I have had needed the code reset. Confused.

  I wonder if anyone can answer this simple question? I've just purchased a new Ka battery in preparation of the frosty mornings, went out to change it for the old 'un & stood there stumped! It's probably just me being daft but I can't see a way of removing the webbing strap that holds the old battery tight.

  For 3 years I have had the battery light on permanantly and no mechanic or specialist has beeen able to explain why or to get it switched off!? I got a brand new battery and the problem was still there. All codes have been wiped etc numerous times!

  i have a 2000 saxo vtr and the battery light keeps coming on have had the alternator and the battery checked and they are ok have done ignintion bypass as the power steering heater and rear window dimister stopped working you can hear the power steering motor still working when the engine isn't running have also changed the relay by the pump is there an other relay for these in the fuse box need help with this please

  Hi, I'm the owner of a new Toyota Auris Excel Hybrid, the car would not start after a week of ownership, it had a flat 12 volt battery. It has been in the dealers workshop three weeks now waiting for a new battery, I would like to hear from anybody else who has had a similar problem. Thanks in advance.

  Hello, please could anyone explain ther reason/cure for severe positive battery terminal corrosion on my land rove defender, i'm based in oman and taken to reversing my boat trailer into the sea up to the rear axle, the priblem seems to have started with the introduction of salt water on the body/chasis, no where near the battery, I hose the vehicle off after immersion. any answers, thanks, Mike.

  ive got a 2003 Corolla D4D in the last few days with the cold weather and snow first thing in the morning and when left all day at work when i come to start it it turns over and over as if battery is going flat then it fires up !! glow plugs replaced last yr !! is this the start of my battery starting to fail ? plz help if you can ! thanks

  I need a new battery for my car, and have found some good prices online. Has anyone heard of Numax batteries? Chap on the phone tells me that they are made by Varta - can anyone confirm this? Buying a Numax will save me £20 compared with a Varta Silver (I do lose 2 yrs worth of warranty though) Also - can anyone tell me how to post a message without selecting the Make/Model?

  Can you help please as I have just been quoted £152 by BMW to change the battery on my 530i. I have found some good deals on the Internet for a new battery but where does it go? If someone could let me know and how to change it I would be very grateful, it can't be that difficult surely?

  Morning, I hope everyone is well, The battery warning light on my Mk2 Golf has started flashing intermittently. It happens at both low and high revs although seemingly not in the midrange. I cleaned the terminal clamps and replaced the battery with no change.
