Jaguar S-Type 2.7 Sport diesel manual 2004 saloon. - Battery Warning Light permanantly on! - iantommo

For 3 years I have had the battery light on permanantly and no mechanic or specialist has beeen able to explain why or to get it switched off!? I got a brand new battery and the problem was still there. All codes have been wiped etc numerous times!

Does it stay on even with the D+ terminal on the alternator disconnected?

...if it goes out when you disconnect the terminal the alternator has a fault but it will cost you a new one to put it out. Stick a bit of tape over it.
