  • Mitsubishi L200 pickups (2000 - 2006) - How to charge for mileage 11 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Hi all, Please help me out with this. I have been asked to pick up some furniture in my L200 pickup. I can work out the cost of fuel and my time easily, but is there a rate per mile I should be charging to cover fuel, wear&tear, depreciation/use of vehicle etc? This is not my usual line of work, so I'm in the dark here. Yours views?.

  • Citroen AX 1.1 Echo - not starting 1 Jun 2007 (Forum)
It's a petrol engine, ~65000 miles, K reg. Is this likely to be electrical (spark not getting through?), fuel (fuel not being supplied properly), or something else (gaskets seem to be a problem on AX's...)? Any info gratefully received! Molly

  • Range Rover cuts out 6 Feb 2006 (Forum)
Recently tickover has become uneven, and when engine has been working hard for ten minutes or so, it dies and won't start. Good spark, fuel pump running and there is fuel at the engine. Leave it for ten minutes or so and it will start and run normally. It only seems to happen when it's been working hard for a bit. With normal gentle driving it seems ok.

  • MPG at different speeds 9 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Does anyone know where I can find a graph (or figures) showing fuel economy at different speeds. I realise that it will vary for each vehicle but I wondered if there were some general principles that apply to all vehicles. For example, I read that one reason for not increasing the speed limit on motorways to 80 mph is that fuel economy is much worse at 80 than at 70 mph.

That seems a big inaccuracy to me. Has anyone else ever tried checking the amount of fuel they have been dispensed?
  • economical driving 31 Jul 2003 (Forum)
yesterday i took my astra 1.4 to manchester airport, I spent £6.50 on fuel,72p a litre and i covered 98 miles till the fuel warning light came on, on the motorway i was travelling an average 62 m.ph, i reckon for a petrol car with four adults my car gave about 45 mpg, question to you guys is it more economical to drive at a constant 60 than go flat out 80-90 mph, saving time, but would i still be driving economically at faster speed?
