  • FIAT Punto (1994 - 1999) - Injector warning lamp ON (1998 75SX) 20 Sep 2007 (Forum)
The Haynes manual doesn't show the injector wiring for the multipoint system so I don't know where they are connected to on the ECU to check out the individual connectors. Any helpful advise with this problem would be much appreciated. s

  • Ford - '02 Mondeo Mk III (not MkII !!) dash illumination? 6 Sep 2007 (Forum)

  • Holed windscreen 26 Aug 2007 (Forum)
As the damage was not serious, and was soon dealt with by RAC Windsreen service, i.e. epoxy was compressed into the hole, I was not too bothered. It occured to me though that the damage to my car,or even someone`s eye for example could have been much more serious. In this "worst case scenario" would I have been able to sue the person responsible? I realise now I should have stopped and given him a piece of my mind.
  • Vauxhall Corsa C (2000 - 2006) - Network Q worth the extra ? 20 Aug 2007 (Forum)
Hi- 20 year old stepson is thinking of upgrading from worn out S-reg 1.0 Corsa to an neat looking '03 silver 1.2 SXi (16v, alloys, a/c) with 48000 for 4.5k. He's driven it, likes it (especially in comparison to 1.0) and the insurance isn't horrendous, so is quite keen.
  • 'Big Wheels' not liked by insurers? 1 Aug 2007 (Forum)
A guy drove from his driveway into the road as wife was passing and fortunately his car bumper only impacted with her rear n/s tyre hence no damage whatsoever. Makes a mockery of her having to change her insurers when they declined to insure her re purported 'additional risks' probably associated with potential theft albeit without them there would have been a sizeable claim.

  • Past glories - searching for old links 9 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Some time ago (over a year I think) someone posted a fabulous link to an old film of Saab 9000's 'dancing' for want of a better description on a runway with musical accompaniment. There was also a link for a tunnel in Russia where a camera had filmed the slippery conditions (and ensuing mayhem) that also was worth watching.
  • Reliable cheap small auto 13 Jun 2007 (Forum)
I would also like the car to have some safety kit, and an ok ncap score. I have been looking online at the following cars. 306 Mid 90's + civic Golf 92+ Ibiza Polo Starlet Matiz Punto Corrola Atoz Amica Lupo Arosa Almeira etc
  • Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec keeps cutting out 31 May 2007 (Forum)
my S reg focus seems to be idling at low revs (about the 900 mark) I dont know if this is contributing to it cutting out. When i release the accelerator the revs drop and it has occasionally cut out. I thought this was something i was doing because i have only had the car a month but it has happened a few times now.
  • 7 Seater estate for less than £1000 23 May 2007 (Forum)
Ideally I'd like something like a Renault 21 estate, where all the seats are forward facing, as I would prefer the separate boot, rather than having the rearmost passengers share legroom with luggage. As these Renault 21's are quite rare now, has anyone got any other suggestions?
  • Driver Age Limits 22 May 2007 (Forum)
Is this because they have been programmed by nature to survive in order to protect the survival of the human race, or because their lives being so much easier than men`s that they are more relaxed? But younger women drive much too close to the car in front. Omegalen
  • Reasonable parking sensors 23 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Hello there, Just bought a new VW Bora 1.6 S, and picking it up on Tuesday. We currently own a much smaller car, so it'll be a steep learning curve to learn how to park the Bora for me, but especially for my wife, who isn't the most confident of drivers, but will need to drive the car on her own sometimes.
  • It's a mystery! (206CC Brake reserv.) 21 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Question is: Could this be due to some mishandling when servo was replaced OR can driving over rough ground do this (seems unlikely) and has anyone had reservior split on their car and what caused it? Maybe screwing the cap down too vigoursly? Thanks S.
  • Mondeo 1.8lx (99) power loss 10 Mar 2007 (Forum)
My S plate (99) Mondeo 1.8LX (Zetec-e engine) has gone from running perfectly well to suddenly deciding it only wants to rev to 4000rpm. After that, there's major kangaroo-ing and the power drops to tickover before picking up again.
  • VW Coils AGAIN 7 Mar 2007 (Forum)
The car is registering an emmissions fault and will just not start. The local dealer has told him 1-2 weeks for the bits and they have 3 other 1.6's with the same problem waiting. VW have said they will pay even though the car is out of warranty but he is now inconvenienced without a car for 2 weeks. Thankfully he has my trusty old Corolla to rely on !!!!!
  • The Good Old Days 2 Feb 2007 (Forum)
new/newly-new car which was designed in the nineties with technology from the eighties- ish! My husband bemoans the advances in technology in newer cars as he?s unable to ?fix? these. I know that Dawoo (have I spelt that right?) used to produced warmed-up ancient Vauxhalls but is there any other manufacturer offering the same today? We?re not bothered about badge status, colour or origin ?
  • No temperature gauge! 29 Jan 2007 (Forum)
But I do like to see how the coolant is warming up, and even more to see how the oil is warming up - as on my MINI Cooper S. Still, the BM has a 'fuel consumption indicator' and does have a fuel gauge thrown in too. Apart from this relative lack of instrumentation, the latest 3 seems a fine car.
