Anyone driving around in a Mazda 6. I'd be interested to know anyones experiences with it, particularly road noise on long motorway journeys and opinions on legroom and headroom. Thanks Marty
  • why hate SUVs? Is it justified? 7 Sep 2003 (Forum)
There are many sites on the net for and against SUVs, mostly against though. Apart from the obvious (fuel consumption, danger) why are SUVs such a controversial drive? Is the abuse justified?
  • speedometer failure 29 Jan 2003 (Forum)
the speedometer and mileage counter on my 306 seems to fail intermittently when the engine is not up to certain temp. After an hour of driving it seems to work again. Could someone share your views on this.

  • BMW 2 Series Active Tourer - A weekend test drive in a BMW 225xe plug-in hybrid 22 Jan 2017 (Forum)
Short version:  I test-drove a 225xe plug-in hybrid for nearly 300 miles.  It was quick, fun and interesting to drive;  I got nowhere near the official economy figures (38mpg in my hands);  but it would save a company car driver a ton of BIK tax and contract hire rates are cheap.   Long version:  I thought I’d share my impressions of the BMW 225xe plug-in hybrid I’ve just had for an extended test drive for the past couple of days.
  • License revoked.. long time ago. 14 Feb 2010 (Forum)
The Police say I am able to just re-apply for my license and go from there. But I don't understand why I have been able to drive cars for 11 years effectively without a driving license. I have been stopped for various reasons during that time and more recently I was stopped in a random Operation Tonic check where all my details were checked... and all was ok.
  • For Volvoman 14 Mar 2003 (Forum)
The last time we went, we actually went to the Czech Republic via the Slovak Republic, crossing the border from Austria near Vienna, I recall. For variety, we tend to come back by driving away from the UK in to Poland, up into what was East Germany, past Dresden, then straight across Germany to Luxembourg, Belgium, France, and home. Difference is about 90 minutes driving time (quicker via Poland for us, but not for you I suspect from Slovak Republic).
  • 6 months non use and car issues. 30 Sep 2024 (Forum)
Needed charged the battery overnight ,  thought all was good when it started until she tried to pull away in the drive ... lots of juddering , banging noise coming from the front end .. I had a look while she was driving and the front wheels looked like they were vibrating then a loud clunky / clicking sound every second ...it happens going either back or forth and even when stationary when turning the wheel .
  • Section 88 and Car Insurance. 3 Jun 2024 (Forum)
Hi All, I would really appreciate some help regarding my issue concerning Section 88 and Car Insurance. Basically licence expired in April. Now and driving under Section 88 (received letter from DLVA). Currently still insured from the pre-existing policy. My policy is now due next month. Can I apply for car insurance as normal and declare I have a licence as I'm driving under section 88 or do I have have to declare this to insurers on the comparison websites or my current insurer.
  • Renault Clio - Creaking noise when steering to park or drive out 12 Feb 2024 (Forum)

  • BMW 3 Series - Car Damaged by a Child 5 Feb 2024 (Forum)
My car has been parked on my drive and the neighbours child aged approx 6/7 years old has put a massive dent in the car door, this is the second time this child has damaged my car on my drive within the last year (first time scratched the bumper with their bike).
  • Fiesta - Used undiluted coolant, what should I do? 8 Nov 2023 (Forum)
By my reconning, it must have had about 2ish liters of pre mixed coolant already in, as it's taken about 3 litres in total to get it to it's min line.      Thoughts? Fine to drive or do i need to get it flushed?
  • Kia Rio 2 - Clutch heavy with low bite point 11 Aug 2023 (Forum)
There's much to like about the car but having driven it for quite few hours, now, I have to say I find it most uncomfortable to drive. One reason for this is that the clutch is on the heavy side and the biting point is near to the floor. It bites smoothly without judder, and gear changes are absolutely fine, but driving in stop-start traffic is really hard work and I have to sit nearer the steering wheel than i'd like because of the very low biting point.
  • 21 plate Polo 1.0 Tsi Engine 7 Jun 2023 (Forum)
5 speed so your doing nearly 4,000 revs at 70 No acceleration in any gear beyond 1st 45mpg on average which is mainly motorway and A road driving It reminded me in some ways of driving an MG3 1.5 which is a hideous engine. One thing I don’t understand is I recently had a Seat Ibiza on hire which I liked with the 1.2 tsi ; this car is essentially the same (except the engine and badge) and yet it is far duller and some how more cramped than the Ibiza.
  • various - car rental as a new driver 12 May 2023 (Forum)
I was about to give up until I found that Enterprise is the only rental company in the UK that allow you to rent a car regardless of driving experience, as long as you have a clean license and are over 25.   I plan to do a day tour of driving in north Scotland along the A82 which is meant to be one of the most scenic road trips in the UK apparently.
  • 2008 Peugeot 308 1.6 / 2016 Fiat 500x 1.4T petrol - MPG better driving north? 16 Dec 2022 (Forum)

  • Saab 95 - Seat belt issues 8 Sep 2022 (Forum)
So I'm a little 5' tall  old lady and drive a large Saab estate. The law says I must wear  seat belt However, the seat belt goes across my throat. If I come to a sudden stop, this will more than likely kill me by crushing my windpipe or severing an artery.
  • Ford Focus - Ticking noise from tyre 17 Oct 2021 (Forum)
It may explain the fact I don't hear it after a certain speed due to the centrifugal force. Also, is it safe to drive until I can get it to a tyre shop to get said object removed? Thanks in advance. Joe ??
  • Pulling out of junction liability 19 Aug 2021 (Forum)
Insurance have taken the position that because my vehicle was pulling out from a junction that I am at fault end of story. The fact that the other driver was driving at speed, illegally the wrong way down a one way road doesn’t seem to be a consideration! Are these situations always open and shut cases with the driver pulling out always being at fault no matter what or can there sometimes be some leeway due to certain circumstances (like the other party driving the wrong way down a one way road ??)
  • 2011 Zafira. 1.7 Diesel - Cluncking noise in second gear. 25 Jun 2021 (Forum)
I get a clucking noise the first time I put the car in second gear after start. It comes a second after its put in gear and clutch is lifted whilst car is driving. I could drive an hour after without any noises. However if I turn the engine off and on, it will do it again only once the first time it goes in second gear. I've worked out it only happens once after the engine is started and its when its first put in second gear.
