Citroen C4 Picasso 7-st (2007 - ) - - 10 day hire car review 12 Jun 2008 (Forum)
Didn't want baby seat in back so was only my 5 year old in the 'boot' but was easier for her to climb in through the boot. On drive home electronic fuel guage was infuriating. Was a take away full and return empty deal, and was hard to guage how much fuel was left. Put 2 lots of EUR 5 diesel in, but didnt register on kms left or guage flashing away- but made it back with 45 kms to empty showing. -
VW Golf 1.6 FSI SE - Electric car lease vs Used Car 22 Jun 2019 (Forum)
- So car insurance costs shouldn't be a significant issue. I've always bought second hand cars (petrol & diesel) but now I'm wondering if I should do a lease of some sort for an electric car to save on fuels costs However, I've done the sums and I don't think I can find a deal that makes it more cost effective for me. -

Honda CR-V - How negotiable are costs nowadays - or wait? 11 Feb 2019 (Forum)
Went to test drive a 2016 petrol CR-V SE+ today. Found it much more responsive than the 1.6 diesel and am considering a purchase. Our existing car is a month away from new tax & MOT and I'd prefer to get a new one before then if possible. However the car is newer than we wanted and thus more expensive - it's up at £15,885. -

They have sorted the leaks but not the smoke and have now been told it may be the injectors again, i have explained that the van has no power and these type of injectors don't just go like that and they go over time. Well its booked in again tomorrow. I have suggested fuel pump out of sync but was tolt they have checked it three times. Citroen Xsara Picasso 2002 - Awful rattley engine noise 9 Jun 2012 (Forum)
To try to articulate, it sounds very 'tappety' and not far from the noise you might expect from a diesel - although not as intense. Engine response seems fine, no warning lights (one was reset during service) and no loss of power or excessive fuel consumption (it's the not the most economical in any case!) -

Audi A6 Saloon - Oil Light 19 May 2011 (Forum)
A new issue is that the water temp gauge drops to minimum in one step and then returns to its usual 90 ° C also in one step intermittently but not necessarily at the same time as the oil warning light so this may or may not be connected to the oil light fault. V6 Engine runs smoothly, sounds as good as a diesel ever does, no oil leaks at all, oil level is always at max on the dip stick, oil changed using correct grade regularly and oil is acceptably clean on a spot test, steady oil temp on gauge when running, fuel economy is as good as ever, all fluid levels are OK and no sign or smell of anything abnormally hot, turbocharger can be heard spinning down sweetly when engine is turned off. -
Campervan - Help please 31 Oct 2009 (Forum)
September). We are novices and would welcome any advice. What we think we know: ? 2.3litre or bigger diesel engine (fuel economy is important to us) ? Needs to be 16-21ft (want to access some more remote places) ? Probably 2001 or newer (We are told that breakdown cover is difficult/expensive to come by for vehicles over 10 years old) ? -
Current trends reduces new car desirability? 3 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Don't get me wrong, a bit of inheritance or a lottery win, would have an Aston Martin of some sort and a Jag XF, no problems, but once back in the real world, anything sub 30K doesn't really interest me and I can't afford anything more than 30K. I'm wondering whether it's the fact that everything nowadays is such a compromise i.e. fuel costs have made V8's and V6's a no-no unless you're doing seriously limited mileage and/or the new tax classes.. a diesel is practical but boring, so for the first time if i can't get what I want, i'm not prepared to take a big dive on depreciation etc, so i'll keep what i've got I do spend more than is probably prudent keeping my 9 yr old car in tip top condition (just had both bumpers re-sprayed re minor parking scrapes), but have never been anywhere near to being a champion of bangernomics what's happening to me?
