In the ongoing search for a suitable automatic for my dad, he is now seriously interested in a used Xsara PicassoExclusive 2.0 petrol automatic as it meets all his "criteria". "classic" Mercedes - Sell or keep ?? 8 Jul 2005 (Forum)
The second car is a 260 E saloon automatic, from 1988, it is also in very good order but needs a new motor in one electric window, this also drives very well and has a very powerful smooth engine which gives very good performance when needed. -
Mercedes 230E steering lock/leads 29 Jan 2004 (Forum)
When the car is running, this is energized ie. positive, and with the other positive lead gives 2 positives so the light will not work. When switched off, we have a dead lead ie. negative earth, and the red light automatically flashes. My problem is getting to the back of the steering lock which seems to involve removing vast amounts of dashboard (does it). Is there another way I can pick up another positive lead that will go dead when the engine is switched off, so the light will automatically flash. -
Dishonest John's Guide - all true 7 Oct 2001 (Forum)
Loved the latest addition to the site. Until recently we had a Vauxhall Omega V6 automatic on our company car fleet. I borrowed it to nip home at lunchtime - on the way back it lost power and the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree with warning lights and messages. In to the Vauxhall main agent, who diagnosed a faulty automatic transmission, which they would be happy to replace for £1300 plus labour. -

A friend of mine in France is looking at buying a 2012 Honda Civic 9 1.8. automatic petrol. Am I right in thinking the series 9 Civic auto is a torque convertor box and that it was the series 8 that had the dodgy Ishift? Are there any things to watch out for with this model of Civic? -
