Fiesta Ghia - Fiesta Zectec S Control Valve 6 Aug 2012 (Forum)
I want to unplug the Idle Control valve so I can clean it as my revs are slightly Irractic. My problem is that the air filter box which is located at the front of the car, sits over the manifold, under this sits the Idle control valve, this I cannot gain access to this is due to plastic tubing covering it Any ideas of how you get to to Idle control valve on this model? -

Toyota Avensis - Power steering Issues Toyota Avensis 2011 10 Jul 2012 (Forum)
In recent weeks the steering has become heavy at times. This is especially true at Start up for the first 5-10 seconds. Also when moving into sharp car parking space The steering went heavy for the first quarter turn while the power steering motor kicked in you could hear the noise. Going into Listers Coventry on Tuesday, i do hope they cover under warranty it not done 10K. -
Skoda Fabia vRS Estate Mk2 - Gap Insurance Recommendations? 31 May 2011 (Forum)
I'd like to know if anyone has any feedback on third party Gap Insurance firms? I am interested in taking out Gap Insurance as I am buying a new car at the VAT off price through a broker, and since the order it's value has risen by £1135 to replace. The companies i'm considering at the moment are Surf and Protect and car2cover.co.uk. I'm looking for an underwritten replacement cover scheme from a reputable broker, does anyone have any experiences or recommendations? -
Renault Clio II - Hydraulic Tappets 16 Mar 2011 (Forum)
Hi, I'm doing a decoke on my wife's car which has a 1.4 16v (K4j) DOHC in it. I've been told that the Hydraulic tappets have to be bled. Could someone enlighten me on how to do this please? Also, when I took the cam cover off, two of the (torx) head bolts were rounded off. -

My daughters KA has a very sticky drivers door lock. Tried a gallon of WD40 but it is still very graunchy, to the extent that she now locks the car from the passenger side. Any ideas on remedy or how to remove the lock to try and lubricate it internally? I've had the door card off, but I cannot seem to suss out how to remove the security shroud that covers the lock mechanism. -
hyundai !30 - speedo fault 15 Oct 2010 (Forum)
I,ve just covered approx 3000 miles in my June 2010 reg car and have only today discovered the mystery behind why my speedo varies dramatically and drops to zero intermittently whilst driving. The fault has been discovered by the Hyundai dealer to be to do with the connection of the hands free Parrot Blue tooth phone kit - so whenever my phone is in use the speedo goes to zero. -

i have ,5 days ago purchased the above and noticed the engine is covered in a white powder deposit this is obviously some form of aluminium corrosion , bearing in mind this vehicle had only done 5 miles and is brand new does this indicate the car has been languishing in a storage field for last 2 years? -
Audi A4 (1995 - 2000) - 00 1.9 New timing belt too tight? code:AJM (PD 16 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Just had a (genuine) cambelt kit fitted and noticed heat from behind the top belt cover - removing this revealed excessive heat from the top sprocket and the belt run to the right felt very tight - I had only driven the car 10 miles..... I am aware the tension setting can be tricky on these - any theories on the error made? -

Warranty Direct query info wanted 18 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Baring in mind the car has now done 67k, it is a 52 plated ex lease vehicle and the problems I had when I first got it - wish I had this policy then... It is not the body work that worries me as that is sound but the mechanical/engine/lpg side of the vehicle. -

Crossroads priority 29 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Assume you wish to drive straight ahead at a crossroads while someone in the opposite road wants to turn right. Who has the priority? The point does not seem to be covered by the Highway Code. This happened to me this morning. Big, ugly-looking customer in a big, ugly-looking 4WD started blasting off (in a heavily built-up area) while I gave way to 3 cars turning left in front of me. -
Sticky clutch in reverse Rover 45 TD 22 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Is that the clutch master/slave cylinder? Going forward is not a problem and also going fast in reverse is fine. The car is still under warranty for 3 weeks and clutch (and all its parts ) are covered. Should I contact the provider (AA)? -
406 Coupe with swimming pool in footwell 17 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Hi, I've got a 2001 Y 406 coupe with a swimming pool in the passenger side footwell, The problem started last sunday, i noticed a few dribbles from under the glovebox Come monday it had turned into a torrent of water enough to form a puddle in the footwell. I've taken the car to the main dealer but they want to charge me £600, because they say there is a problem with the evaporator unit (or something like that ?), and the warranty company wont cover it because they say its "water ingress". -
Polo 1.4 16v tensioners 13 Jun 2006 (Forum)
I think this may have been touched on before. My wife has a Polo 1.4 16v X reg (39,000 miles), on Friday the car started making a noise from the under the engine cover at the left side of the engine. Managed to get it to a garage and they have said that the plastic pre-tensioner has broken. I know that this seems to be a known problem with this engine type but has anyone claimed any of the repair bill from VW as this seems to have happened before I would have expected (if at all!)
