Next car in 18 months time -a blog. 22 Jul 2009 (Forum)
I suspect that many other BRs are in a similar frame of mind half the time so I thought I?d record my current thoughts and see how these change and develop over the next 18 months. We run two cars. SWMBO has a 2005 Grand Scenic and I run a 2002 52 Mondeo. The Scenic is used mainly for my wife?s business and school runs. It doubles as the family car on those increasingly rare occasions when all 5 of us go out together. -
Volkswagen Passat (1988 - 1997) - 96 2.0 Poor running, hesitation. 5 Jul 2009 (Forum)
The car then feels hesitant and you can feel that it isn't happy - at one point this afternoon it was so bad I almost thought I was running out of fuel. If you accelerate sharply for a brief second or two it clears but soon comes back within another few seconds. I had a routine service by Tune Up about a month ago and when I advised of the symptoms (although they weren't so severe or common then) a fault code was found in the system - lambda lower limit error indicating that it was running rich, I hope I've got that right, I know nothing about such things? -
Peugeot 406 (1999 - 2004) - 2000 2.0 110 BHP HDI Air Pollution Fault 23 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Engine switched off - over run returns again Restart engine - air pollution error back. Bosch Diagnostics computer shows following: 0100 error - mass air flow & 1138 (something to do with rail sensor??) Reset faults - engine runs idle fine, revs normal and running good. -
Omega running costs 11 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Dunno, but I'm open to suggestions. Am I overstating or understating it? So, it seems to me like I've got a total running cost of £12,849, or 25.5p per mile. I think that's pretty good value for the old beast, and not bad for a big cruiser that has been reliable bar the camshaft sensor going. According to my computer in the car, I've spent 1,227 hours with the engine running (33 working weeks!) -
Dacia Duster - Which engine (turbo, non-turbo) for short runs? 18 Mar 2025 (Forum)
Or a diesel. Apparently while most diesels are also bad for short runs, the Dacia is ok. But I've never had a diesel and would prefer not to if possible. - Occasionally I'll want to load the back of the car with branches and logs for firewood. Would the 1L cope? -
