Ford S-MAX - Child Observation Mirror 8 May 2019 (Forum)
Hi All, I've just purchased a 2013 S-MAX Titanium and was wondering if anyone else has one that doesn't have a child obseration mirror? When on our test drive I was sat in the back whilst my husband drove and I asked the sales guy about the mirror as I use it all the time in my old car and he showed me the sunglasses holder and said it didn't have a mirror as it was an option for one or the other when ordering which I thought was stange. -

What's best large estate for £7500? Must be petrol and automatic. Could also be tempted with MPVs. -
Audi A4 avant 3.0Tdi quattro s-tronic, 2012, 28000 - A4 strong vibrations on motorway 6 Jan 2016 (Forum)
It's a low frequency rumbling noise which increases with vehicle speed rather than box revs. At 65 mph a bit more noise and if I am cruising at 80+ mph with cruise control on (in D or S or M box mode) the noise is definitely higher and whatever is causing it starts to shake the car a bit. The more I drive the more the shaking can increase and the noise starts to boom around the cabin of the car. -
Volkswagen Polo 1.9 S SDI - 2002 Polo SDI good reliable option? 21 Mar 2015 (Forum)
I like the safety, all-round economy and smooth ride of the car otherwise. The car I am going to see at a dealers is practically the same 52 body except is an S trim with SDI diesel engine. I actually like the eager little 1.2 engine and enjoy the sedate ride, so am wondering it might be a similar spec in terms of performance. Firstly, is the SDI a non-turbo engine? -

Jaguar S-Type 2002 3.0SE - Help....gearbox issue 16 Dec 2014 (Forum)
Ive recently bought a nice ( or at least thought it was) 2002 S-type 3.0SE. Anyway, whilst driving it home and subsequently using it since Sunday. I've had issues with the gearbox which escaleted this afternoon. The problem started with a lurching issue through the gears, especially in first and second. -
Ford Focus 1.6 02 plate - possible bearing/drive-shaft damage on 1.6 Focus? 27 Mar 2014 (Forum)
I do some work on my cars so know a bit about bearing/shafts, so my immediate thought was wheel bearings. I took apart the n/s left hub and the bearing is fine. The o/s bearing also appears ok with a simple test on the wheel for play/grinding, all seems in good shape. Next, wondered about brakes - front brakes also seem fine, not stuck or obstructed that I can see. -
Audi A1 - Buying Audi A1 from an AUDI dealer 29 Dec 2013 (Forum)
Over the weekend I suddenly realised I probably should have got the car inspected by a third party ? Obviously Audi inspects the car as it`s approved ? They say they`re ok with it being inspected but I need to take ownership within a month. Do I need the extra inspection or is Audi`s enough ? Also since I haven`t signed anything but I have put down a deposit am I legally bound to still buy the car within the month ? -

Ford S-MAX - Run Flat Tyres 7 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Can anyone please, please help me. I have a Ford S-Max 2.0 Diesel ZETEC. It is fitted with run flat tyres. Now either Ford made a genuine but enormous mistake using run flat tyres or there is a consiparcy between the car companies and the tyre companies to defraud drivers or enormous amounts of money. -
Jaguar S-Type VED Mistake? 7 Aug 2011 (Forum)
As regular readers will know i purchased a Jaguar S-Type just over a month ago and im now a bit confused regarding its Road Tax rate (or VED charge, before any militant pedants or cyclists assault me). I was charged £460 for a 12 month disc and the disc on the car when i bought it had £435 written on it which was Band M's price for the previous year. -

The free key ring era - and other memories 22 Jun 2010 (Forum)
The attractive plastic Regent badge soon broke off - but the ring part was kept due to it`s large size - and that odd triangular cross section of the metal keeping it distinct in memory - as to it`s origin. Keys built up on it as time went buy, many of them redundant. Other keyrings were clipped to it and in the end it was like a jailers joy. -
Parus Major - the Great Tit 14 Jun 2010 (Forum)
Looked like quartz - as you are apt to see on a beach. Funny, that, as we are 70 miles from the sea. So maybe it`s been rounded by the sea in ages gone, when it covered this area. It could have course have been bought in a shop in the 70`s and rounded off in one of those stone polishing machines. Remember the fad? -

Ford S-MAX (2006 - ) - Auto v Manual - running costs etc. 14 Nov 2009 (Forum)
It's happily done 102,000 miles now, but it is super comfortable for 4, but it's surprisingly difficult to get 3 car seats across the back. I am currently looking at a Ford S-Max for my growing family. I've taken both the 2.0l Diesel Manual, and the Auto in the same engine for a test drive. I liked both, but prefer the Auto. In financial terms, the Auto for the same car is £55 more per year on the vehicle tax, and taking the quoted mpg (47mpg for the manual, 38mpg Auto), if I do say 6000 miles per year, the additional cost of running an Auto over the manual is approx. £200 pa including the tax. -

Porsche Cayman S + Cayman (2005 - ) - Porsche quality 12 Oct 2008 (Forum)
For anyone contemplating owning a Porsche my experience may be worth considering. I took delivery of my first Porsche, a new Cayman S in July 2006. After becoming familiar with the vehicle, but within the first 3 months, I became aware of a rattle from the rear near side corner, occurring at around 3000rpm in 6th gear but evident from 60 - 80 mph. -
Honda Stream (2002 - 2006) - Stream 2.0 i-VTEC - advice please 14 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Car will do around 7500 miles per annum, transporting two children under three and associated paraphernalia. I know and love the 80's/90's/00's Civic, but I have no experience with this model or engine. Car-by-car suggests performance/handling are stronger points than outright practicality. Zafira or Picasso were also on the shortlist, and a younger example of either can be had for the same money as the Honda I'm sure.
