  Being a bloke that loves saloon cars above all others, I'm thinking of buying a 2litre Kia Magentis automatic ( three years old ). People IMO don't seem to be able to comment on them, but i think its solid Mitsubishi technology at a knockdown price, for the savvy on a budget. I do my own oil changes and pad checks etc.

  I asked about having the bluetooth mobile phone activated and he said that it doesn;t need to be it will automatically recognise my phone. does anyone know if this is true - i thought it was an option ( around £250) dominic

  Dad's Picasso (1.6 HDI 110) is supposed to have automatically activated hazard lights in commom with most of the Citroen range. They don't work. The dealer has said that they have several cars not doing this, including a C4 and C8, has anybody else had problems with hazard lights not activating in the event of hard braking?

  Hi, This summer I may be doing quite a lot of driving, mixture of motorway and country roads. I was just wondering which would be most economical to run a Honda Jazz 1.4 automatic or a 1.3 Escort. The Honda has a much more modern engine but the escort has very high gearing. Was just wondering everyone's opinion. Thanks

  There's just something about the rear end of the Disco Mk3 that just screams law enforcement at me, especially with the dark glass which they all seem to have. Every time I see one I automatically slow down and keep it below a hundred as I pass it (that last bits a joke treehuggers). Am I paranoid or just mad.

  Just been under my car having a quick look round as the MOT is due in a couple of weeks, and I've noticed one of the rear shocks is leaking oil, is this an automatic MOT fail point? I don't want to have to pay a retest fee, but I'm not in a position to buy some more shocks for a month or so.

  hi all,hope you can help I have a BMW 530d,2002 with automatic airconditioning.if I set the temperature inside the car higher than the outside(without using the aircon,just on the fan),the windscreen fogs up,it helps somewhat if then the aircon is started.Does the aircon need to be used or is there another way to demist or is the ventilation system defective many thanks

  Everybody is talking about half price Rovers and all that, but I don't see 'em anywhere? If I want something specific, like an Automatic Diesel MG ZTT, reversing sensors, cruise control, whatever, where are they? Still stuck in an airfield, somewhere? When do they come out?   I can switch all the courtesy lights on manually in my 2002 model Passat. They do not come on automatically with the switch set to the door position. The under door and luggage compartment lights do function normally. Any ideas? Will check fuses but can not believe that is the problem. -- I wasna fu but just had plenty.

  Hi, everyone A friend of mine has a 1995 Vauxhall Omega 3.0 v6 Elite automatic, the problem is the cambelt snapped on tick over and wondered what sort of damaged this might of done other than a few valves and what sort of costs are we talking of repair either by a garage or myself.

  Folowing on from threads on speeding and cameras which touched on the inaccuracy of speedos on most cars. I've found that those automatic 'slow down' signs are triggered at exactly the speed limit for that particular stretch of road. When my speedo says 30 the sign doesn't come on but when it reads 31 or 32 it does. I've found this with various cars.

  G Plate 1.3 Polo Sport. My son tells me after he changed the rear wheel bearings that there were no automatic brake adjusters in the rear drums. Is that correct. The MkII golf had them and the later Polos 91/2 on. It appears, he says, to rely on the hand brake adustment to take up the wear. Regards Peter

  My "other half's" father is likely to be in hospital for some weeks, during which his Clio automatic will sit in the garage unused unless someone intervenes. What's the best way of preventing deterioration? Take it out for a long enough journey to reach operating temperature every fortnight? More frequently?

  Can anybody advise me on how to change the automatic gearbox oil on my 1993 5 speed BMW 320i which does not have a dipstick. How do I know when the box is full? Haynes manual says leave it to a BMW garage, but that goes against my principles. Help please, Best Wishes for the new year.GGH

  Thinking of buying one.... but would like opinions on usefullness of the semi auto option and overall drive as an automatic. Never been a fan of auto's but now I'm getting on a bit and stuck in city traffic 50% of the time I think it may be time to cross over. Thanks in advance Steve

  My 1992 Mercedes 230E automatic has a problem with the bulb failure indicator lamp on the dashboard. When side or headlights are used, it always comes on even though all the exterior bulbs are fine and working. It happened once before, and was caused by using a 10 watt not the correct 5 watt rear bulb.

  ...so many new car owners remove their wheel trims from the car straight after buying it? It automatically ages the car by five years in IMHO. Are they scared they will fly off and cause damage to other cars or pedestrians? I cant think of any other reason (short of them being nicked!) Im a loser baby....so why don't you kill me?!
