MINI Convertible - Mini run flat tyres 16 Sep 2012 (Forum)
She was advised to have all four tyres changed. But because of the high price of run flats the fitter replaced them ordinary tyres, saying that it was quite legal. However, I am concerned that that if my daughter's car has a puncture she could be stranded (there is no spare wheel supplied). -
Chevrolet Lacetti - Replacing rear washer pipe on Chevvy Lacetti 21 Jun 2012 (Forum)
It's a run of plastic pipe, about 7mm in diameter. The only idea I can think of is to get a larger diameter but very snug fitting piece of pipe and run each part of the original pipe into it to bridge the gap. -

Vauxhall Corsa B (1993 - 2000) - 97 1.2 poor running, then won't start - now solved 16 Jan 2009 (Forum)
He surmised that the car was therefore over fuelling, which damaged the plugs and choked the engine. The temp sensor was replaced, and it now runs perfectly again. -

Ford Explorer LPG misfire on petrol 16 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Recently I bought a 2000 model Ford Explorer converted to run on LPG (dual-fuel - Romano system; no idea whether it's fully sequential or not) When running on LPG, it runs lovely and smooth, but when I switch to petrol (it needs to start up on petrol, then switches over) it runs with the most appalling misfire. -
Daewoo nexia poor running 16 Mar 2007 (Forum)
My diagnosis head gasket gone between oil and coolant - but not into the piston - (yet) I would say they are two seperate faults, one requiring injector cleaner/new injector the other requiring new head gasket. Am I right or could the bad running be related to the oil problem? -
Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 - temp running hot! 26 Jun 2006 (Forum)
My next plan of action was to attempt to replace the water pump, however before I do this I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what could be causing the car to be running hot? cheers. -

vectra juddery and sunroof 13 Jul 2004 (Forum)
hi ive got a 1.8 ls vectra ecotec 5sp manual when you accelerate it lower revs its really juddery, changed plugs and run it on expensive petrol as well. last night i noticed a pipe which runs from the top left hand side of the engine and joins the big pipe which runs from air filter to the inlet. it has torn almost half way around, what does this air pipe do, and could it be the reason its running so juddery. 2/ sunroof is really stiff to close and seems to drag along abit on one side, like the other side is doing all the work when you close it, had a look inside myself, totally bemused now.. any ideas anyone. other than that no probs, thanks for responding derek -
Golf - How does auto choke work? 28 Mar 2004 (Forum)
This morning I removed the air filter cover from my 1.3 MkII Golf so that I could watch how the choke worked from cold. The car is not running quite right when I frist start it up but is OK when warm. 1. It startsfirst time and runs A1 for 20 secs or so. 2. It then goes all lumpy when you rev it (or a couple of mins) 3. It then runs pretty much perfectly. -
peugeot 406 2.1td starting/running probs 15 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Engine starts ok sometimes but more and more frequently it starts and then immediately stops, does this up to 3 times and then starts and runs ok. Also, occassionaly it sort of very briefly hesitates while running. Lastly and most worrying on a couple of occassions engine has completely cut out while on motorway but immediately restarts. -
Rover V8 camshaft running-in 22 Sep 2002 (Forum)
I am just about to install a new camshaft + lifters in my 1986 3.5 V8 Range Rover rally-car-on-a-shoestring (286k kms) and I have mislaid the information I had regarding the special running-in procedure. i.e. not letting the engine run at idle for the first 30 mins. Does anyone know where I can find this? Done an hour of Google and re-read the RPi site but still cannot find the regime. -
1988 Audi 90 Quattro re unleaded 4 Apr 2001 (Forum)
My brother currently is running a 1988 Audi 90 Quattro 2.2 injection 10 valve. He is running it only on LRP and it does state that it will only run on 98 ron minimum on the fuel filler flap. He is going to get rid but would keep it if he could run it on unleaded without a great cost of conversion. -

Question please: Does a (new) diesel engine have any advantage over a (new) petrol version when it comes to the additional wear caused by short journeys? many... -
Audi 80 B2 1.8 - Just another Pierburg 2e2 question.. 5 Dec 2022 (Forum)
Bought the car in October and all in all it seems like a good un. So... the issues. Seller told me that sometimes it cheats or over-runs on ignition off. That turned out to be a little optimistic as it over-runs quite often. Also runs super lumpy (as if its not firing all cylinders) for the first 20/30 seconds on a cold morning (0 / ~5). -
Peugeot 106 1.5d 1995 - Peugeot 106 1.5d 1995 starts, runs but cuts out? 12 Sep 2019 (Forum)
Hi all, first post, hoping can find some good advice. Have run a 106 1.5 for 10 years and has run perfectly for all that time ... good MPG, starts in under a second, hot or cold weather, zero smoke and always passes emissions. But the last couple of weeks, it has started hunting and revs vary up and down. -
Tesla, Nissan, Renault ets. - Spike in mayday calls as EVs run out of juice 23 Nov 2020 (Forum)
Apparently the recovery services are receiving a surge in calls from owners of EVs running out of juice. The AA have rescued more than 600 EVs in two years. Most cannot be towed normally and have to be transported with all four wheels off the ground. Apparently on the spot charging has been rejected as it involves a diesel generator which Greta would not be too pleased about !
