BMW 5-Series E34 (1987 - 1996) - 91 3.5 Won't start. 28 May 2009 (Forum)
-Battery-OK(brand new) -Checked all Fuses-OK -Checked Ignition coil(new MSD coil) plenty of spark. -Checked Fuel pump-OK -Checked Fuel Pump Relay. No ground, but when I jump ground to a nearby suspension bolt, fuel pump fires right up, so PUMP is OK. -Relay told pump to turn on, so RELAY is OK -Checked CrankShaft Position Sensor-not sure how to test, but also less than 6 months old and appears fine. -

Why do you advise keeping a car's air con switched on? 21 Feb 2022 (Ask HJ)

BMW 320D Tourer E46 Diesel 2002 reg - Crank but no start. 14 Jul 2021 (Forum)
I then replaced the fuel filter under the car (passenger side), and still no start, but did notice that now the diesel fuel pump next to it is always priming every time you attempt to start the car, so replaced that and still no start but still constantly priming. -
Nissan Primera P11 2.0 TD SX - Nissan Primera P11 2.0 TD Fuel Pump Relay and Fuse 1 Dec 2014 (Forum)
I get 13.8 volts at the pump harness connector with the car running so that looks ok and the fuel gauge works. The voltage does not drop after a few seconds which I would expect. What is strange is I still get that voltage when I pull the fuel pump fuse? can that be explained? I pulled the fuse according to the fuse box layout diagram. -

Mazda 6 - Fuel pump causing problems 12 Dec 2010 (Forum)
Second garage the car was put on a diagnostic machine which came out with a long list of POSSIBLE problems, nothing definite so decided to change the crankshaft sensor and timing belt, still the car will not start. Then it was decided, by yet another recomended garage it was the fuel pump which had gone so after the fuel pump had been changed it was still not starting. Now the garage then advised me it could possibly that the fuel pump was not starting because Mazda cars needed a special type of code for parts to work. -
If you have an S-Max.... 25 Apr 2007 (Forum)
However, if you have an S-max despite what Ford UK and Ford ETIS says the S-Max does not have a 'usaeble' 70 litre fuel tank. From my last two tanks I have got 62.28 litres and 63.54 litres in the tank. On both occoasions, the fuel computer claimed I had about 10 miles left in the tank. Therefore from these tanks, I worked out that if I have a 70 litre tank as Ford state, when the fuel computer says I have zero miles left, I should actually have about 1 gallon left in the tank. -
Cars with automatic gearboxes - ...fuel costs up, time to teach 'pulse and glide'? 18 Jul 2021 (Forum)
The technique pulse and glide was born during WORLD WAR II when the greatest effective method in a war is to ambush fuel and ration supply convoys i.e trucks that was sent to refuel tanks, armored vehicles and troop transport vehicles. Soldiers improvised and learned to use techniques the lead to fuel rationing and effectively increasing the Mpg's. -
Ford Focus - Rattling noise 28 Aug 2015 (Forum)
It only ever does this when warm and the hotter the weather the worse it is (it hardly does it at all in the rain) The only things I am now left with is low fuel pressure although this doesn’t explain why it only does it when hot and the downstream (post-cat) lambda but I didn’t think this affected fuelling, I thought it was purely there to monitor the cats efficiency? -
Nissan Serena - Problems with diesel fuel system 21 Feb 2014 (Forum)
I now believe that although the vehicle was in good order until it broke down when, attempting to re start after fitting the replacement head failed miserably. It was wanting to go but was clearly not getting fuel. Help was sought and eventually after much checking of fuses, supply, and imobilser etc, fuel was eventually delivered to the injectors and the engine now starts and runs well. But alas the spill line is being pressurised fron the pump body connection. -

2003 Focus 1.8 TDCI - FRP Sensor change 21 Oct 2011 (Forum)
P190 - Fuel rail pressure out of expected range - Ford changed the Fuel metering valve, only difference was me £300 light. Voltage test at Fuel Rail Pressure sensor showed 5V supply, but 4.63V at the output signal, I thought this was meant to be around 1.5V at cranking before the PCM would allow the injectors to fire as to prevent damage occuring.
