    Also although I get soapy sludge as well I am told this is condensation due to short miles runs   this can  seem to clear if driven hard    and I  have lost no water in 4k miles so I assume its not cylinder head gasket     This should not be happening on a low miles BMW... or is it cos of low miles and lack of being 'driven' that this has occured ? Have you heard of this before and is the oil swap  a viable solution as I want to keep the car as rest of car is excellent - or is it  likley to be valve stem seals hardening    and  do I just keep feeding her the oil an add to running costs or will this get worse and worse and  I should  walk away  asap !!??

  I own a BMW 335d Coupe with 19" wheels & runflats. From new it managed 14k miles before scrubbing the inside edge off all 4 tyres. The front tyres still had 50% of their original depth over 85-90% of the surface.

  Hi, Is anyone else finding that the over the air map updates aren't happening on their Professional sat nav? BMW are telling me that "a ticket has been raised" and that they don't have any idea when a fit will happen - the complaints department are saying "possibly some time next year". I've been told to do usb updates but am pretty put out as I'm paying more for the ota ones.

  Last week I bought a 2009 BMW 1 series. At the weekend I noticed the nearside front door has had an extensive repair, not only that but the repair has been very badly done - The line of the repair is not straight, there is rippling where the filler is uneven, there are sanding and scoring marks and places where it's been badly rubbed down and finished and there is a paint run.

  Having written off my BMW 530 D Manual I am now trying to decide which of the above to choose. The 2002Touring 525 D has 150K and is going for £2250 and is one owner with a full independent service record. The 07 Mercedes is the Estate Avantgarde with 125 K and all the extras including crushed leather seats sunroof etc. and is estimated at £6K by the person selling it.

  As several versions of turbo are fitted to this model, the only way to find out which part is needed is to remove the old turbo (the part number is inside). I am told that BMW could provide this information but that they will not unless they are doing the work. As the cost is about 1000 plus fitting plus VAT, is there a way I can reduce the the cost?

  I have just purchased a 2007 BMW as above with 32K on the clock;  when I stop in "drive" at say traffic lights the car starts to move about like the engine is misfiring or somebody is pushing the car from side to side, if I put it in "neutral" it stops.
