Volvo 960 Air Con 8 Sep 2002 (Forum)
Anyone have access to a circuit diagram that shows where all the sensors are located ? Any information would be appreciated. It's been a splendid car, and still is, save the air con problems - which must be fixable, surely ? Thanks, Old Nick -
Two Strokes - the sequel 5 Jun 2002 (Forum)
The latest edition of Practical Classics has a feature on two-strokes, and also an article about a magnificent vintage style car powered by a Commer opposed-piston two-stroke diesel. One interesting point from the article - apparently the reason the Ford Ka ended up with the old all-iron crossflow motor which dated back to the Ford Anglia was that it was designed around a compact new two-stroke motor. -

16 year old dies in collision with 4X4 [Read Only] 2 Nov 2009 (Forum)
http://tinyurl.com/y8qdebr "Most, 4 x 4 owners that I see are pretentious arrogant idiots, whose only experience of off - roading is when they accidentally mount the kerb at our local school car park scattering six year olds like ten pins". That is just one of the comments in reply to this tragic and very sad loss. I live in a rural area and have witnessed these 'off road' vehicles complete with bull bars driving at speed down narrow country lanes whilst secure in their large 4X4's. -
Volkswagen Golf V (2004 - 2008) - 2005 1.6 Exhaust System Warning Light 13 Aug 2008 (Forum)
e.g. faulty Lambda probe. 3) Can the Warning Light only be reset electronically (garage/dealer) or would it go out if (only) the problem itself is rectified? I can't think of any related problems with the car. I've had it from 6 months old with 5,000 on the clock and am at 58,889 and nearly 3 years old. Previous service dealer as always and 'Long Life' last October at 41,255 miles. Cheers, Matt. -
New MOT - interesting quirks 17 Dec 2005 (Forum)
I'm not sure how precisely he achieved this, but he said he could do any of the old tricks if he wanted, for favoured customers, and the new system was as wide open to abuse as the old. He could even fool the emissions section, simply by sticking the probe up the exhaust pipe of a known passable car rather than the one on test. -
Toyota Auris - Old Corolla or Auris - such a dilemma!!! 7 Sep 2021 (Forum)
Hey all! I’m calling all first generation Auris owners out there, please!!! (Past and present) My poor old Avensis is dying and it’s time to replace him. I’m looking into either a 2006 Corolla or a 2007+ Auris. My budget is less than £2,000 thanks to Covid decimating my finances. According to reviews, both motoring writers and users, the Auris is a potentially problematic car ... oil guzzling, parts failing catastrophes. -

any - Taxi Drivers 7 Mar 2016 (Forum)
Local facebook (where the cctv was uploaded) identified the taxi firm - and within a few hours the firm's proprietors had contacted the victim. After a bit of shenanigans, the firm paid for the repairs, courtesy car, etc. Old Bill were not in the slightest bit interested in this (seems clear to me) offence. 2. Driver of liveried taxi minibus. tailgating, wrong lane at roundabouts (dangerously undercutting), on hand-held phone and at some points on TWO phones (one in each hand) and steering with knees. -
Oops,I think that I've used an old V5 form! Help! 12 Oct 2013 (Forum)
I've just sold my car for scrap on the Friday just gone. I found the V5 form beforehand in my car file, so filled out the relevant section, gave it to the scrap dealer, who filled out his section. He took his bit away and left me my section so I can send it to the DVLA, which I was planning on sending to them first thing on Monday to notify them on the change of ownership. -
Ford Mondeo estate 2006 Tdci 130 - Mondeo diesel - smoke on startup 26 Apr 2013 (Forum)
2-litre Tdci, 47k miles, mixed use including local, long motorway trips and towing. The car was serviced by the book until about 4 years old, and annually since then. All done by local Ford dealer. Last service a month ago. Car starts first time and runs well, with plenty of power and nicely smooth. -

What happens to the rejected lemons? 17 Dec 2005 (Forum)
What happens to those new cars that customers successfully reject under warranty because of persistent faults etc? If they are re-sold does poor old Joe Public get to know the antecedents? -
Cataclysmic converter 19 Dec 2003 (Forum)
My 10yr old car needed a new cat recently, though interestingly it wasn't because the matrix had collapsed or become contaminated but because the can had rotted through -- a good reason for cleaning the underbody during the winter ! -
