Nissan Micra (1992 - 2003) - 1994 1.0 jerking micra 6 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Ive got a 1994 Nissan micra, which has started to jerk and stutter after a few miles driving. the car has had a service and has been checked over (plugs, distributor cap? etc) by a mechanic who cant seem to identify the problem. apart from the jerking which starts off intermittingly then with continued driving becames regular until it stalls or i have to pull over. the car sounds ok and there aren't any warning lights. please help as i havent got a lot of cash to spend at the moment and being charged for a diagnostic and the problem still remains is not fun. all help appreciated. -

I read a lot of review and videos, apart from whatcar generally is good comments. I did a 10mins test drive, (1.3 Touring) it performs very good in my opinion. My question is does the road noise really bad inside the cabin? Also, driving in Ireland have a lot of ramps, how does mazda 2 perform on it? -

Ford S-MAX (2006 - ) - 2006 1.8 central locking problems 19 Jun 2008 (Forum)
We have just had a tow bar fitted via a reputable trailer centre on our Ford Smax. Since then we are having problems with our central locking not working when parked on our drive, strangely it works when we drive away from the house! We phoned the trailer centre who said they do not touch the central ocking part of the electrics. Could this be a coincidence or does anyone think the fittin gof the tow bar has caused a problem. -

C4 in between programmes 23 Nov 2007 (Forum)
Has anyone else noticed that after the adverts on C4, just before the start of the next programme, they always show two cars and how not to drive on a motorway, both swerving over to the left, extremely late to avoid a contra flow, whats that all about, what's the relevance to anything other than showing 2 idiots who can't drive. Also for csgmart who on IHAQ 107 was looking for a Nintendo wii, did you have any luck??. -
Air Traffic Controller Needs Autopilot 21 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I need a car that will give me cheap motoring (including residual value) - we're not paid as much as the pilots! I'd also like a car that will transport me in comfort. Most of the drive is on dualed roads and, after a hard day on console, I'd like to be transported in a fashion as near as possible to autopilot! My budget is 10-15K. I currently drive an 8-year-old, 2ltr, petrol, Mondeo, which is getting towards the end of its life and with 80K on the clock would appear to be almost worthless. -
Ford Galaxy (1995 - 2006) - Cruise control or not? 28 Oct 2007 (Forum)
I'm looking to buy a used Ford Galaxy which I intend to use for long distance driving ( 600+ miles in a day). Doing a search on Autotrader for upto £8000, diesel and cruise control only gives a handful of results (22). A search without cruise control returns 200+ Does anyone have any experience driving long distances in the Galaxy and if so, would you say that you can do without cruise control? -

Peugeot 307 (2001 - 2007) - HDi 110 - power loss at motorway speeds 19 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Our '03 HDI 110 has lost drive on a couple of occasions when cruising at motorway speeds (on A1 and M11). There are no warning lights showing a problem and after a short break we are able to restart (I think we did this on both occasions) and drive off normally. -
Parking Issues 4 Aug 2007 (Forum)
Half way up ish is a right hand bend which on it is Two Trees virtually opposite each other and then a car and Van park either side of these trees on both sides. As we live just past the bend when we turn right on our drive if anyone is coming up the hill they can't see past the tree/car/van combination and there have been a fair few misses. This works both ways as reversing off our drive is becoming more and more risky. -
Fiesta 1.6s like hens teeth? 16 Jul 2007 (Forum)
The reason im looking at a 1.6 is because the other smaller engines i've been told arn't as reliable, i currently have a 1.4 Zetec but it's been nothing but trouble in the electrical department.. i won't go down that path! -- Its not what you drive, its how you drive it! :-) -
Extended idling for Impreza 15 Jul 2007 (Forum)
If I started my car at the same time as these neighbours I'd be long gone by the time they got to drive off, so their power advantage would be completely wasted. -- L\'escargot. -
Measure your cars drag/Fuel consumption 27 Jun 2007 (Forum)
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question497.htm And `sweetspot` for optimum speed, re fuel consumption cut & paste "In general, smaller, lighter, more aerodynamic cars will get their best mileage at higher speeds. Bigger, heavier, less aerodynamic vehicles will get their best mileage at lower speeds. If you drive your car in the "sweet spot" you will get the best possible mileage for that car. If you go faster or slower, the mileage will get worse, but the closer you drive to the sweet spot the better mileage you will get." -
How is a New Car "Prepared" 20 Jun 2007 (Forum)
I am collecting my brand new car at the end of next week, and a week later I am driving to France in it. Now normally before a large drive like that (especially in the summer) I would apply lashings of wax to the front of car and polish it up to make it as "smooth" as possible to minimise the amount of dead insects. -
Faulty ABS - MOT failure? 6 Jun 2007 (Forum)
As soon as parking brake is released the light goes off. After driving for sometime [1 minute], the light comes up and stays. I still have few months from next MOT. Wondering whether I should keep the car or trade it (won't expect more than £1000 anyway).
