Audi A5 Cabriolet - Windscreen Replacement. How many opportunities? 5 Jul 2024 (Forum)
There is no way of accessing those smears from behind by dismantling the rear view mirror housing apparently. Can I tell AG, I want my local Audi dealership to take care of the replacement screen? Do the same laws apply as if one were rejecting a car within 30 days? The screen is under warranty but I am worried about what they will break or fit incorrectly next. -
Audi a4 tdi - Shake on accerlating 15 May 2022 (Forum)
Hi, on my 2013 audi a4 2.0 tdi with 110k miles it shakes when accelerating on throttle, for example 60mph in 6th gear and put your foot in gradually the shake goes though the car and can see the gear stick shaking. The shake seems to be able to be controlled with the throttle, doesn't seem to come through the steering wheel I have had it checked over by a reputable mechanic and he could not see anything wrong in terms of cv joints etc. -
Nissan X-trail v Audi e-tron - Are modern diesels greener than EVs? 12 Feb 2019 (Forum)
It's obvious that carting around an extra ton of mass will need a significantly larger amount of energy than a much lighter similar sized box on wheels. I think the Audi extra-ton might need to burn more fossil fuel for its energy than an X-trail does. What do scientifically educated backroomers think? (minimum 'O' or GCSE Physics C grade and above, please) -
Audi Q3 Sline - Insurance have paid out on a stolen car but... 27 Dec 2018 (Forum)
Advice needed So we had our Audi stolen around a year go... we sent all the paperwork in like the V5 and keys etc and subsequently received a pay out. we received a letter from the insurance company in November this year saying they no longer have an interest in the private plate so we can now retain the plate, after doing some digging we have found out the car has been found in Durham .... admiral have sent us the log book back which is still in our name as proof for dvla for the plate. -
Volkswagen Passat Estate Audi S4 - What Estate car to buy 28 Oct 2018 (Forum)
Its been good, but now on 105K, showing its age and I'm ready for a change. Owned it from new. Requirement: Quite big, quite fast. What I want is an Audi S4 Avant. My issue is that at 20K miles a year the running costs will be excessive. Looking at the Passat Estate BiTTi which is still pretty fast but way more economical. it is, however, a diesel and I'm a bit scared of going that route... -
Audi - Paint issue - insurance or repairer? 25 Jul 2018 (Forum)
Eighteen months ago, I had a body repair to the wing & driver's door of my 65-plate Audi A3 via insurance, after the car was damaged while parked. The paperwork from the insurance-approved repairer offers a guarantee to paintwork for as long as I own the car. The edge of the driver's door where it meets the wing is now starting to peel away showing rust underneath - either not finished correctly at the join, or there is also a rubber strip inside the wing which seems to be slightly askew and perhaps wasn't aligned properly and has been rubbing on the edge of the door when it opens. -
Next car debate 1 Dec 2017 (Forum)
I'm looking for: Reliability, Comfort, Effortless drivability, Diesel or Petrol Hybrid, Automatic, Economical However, I'm gonna be working in North Yorkshire (quite a lot of country lanes) so was also contemplating 4x4. Well after watching various Youtube vids. Audi's Quattro seems far superior to any other 4x4. Cars I have been looking at are a very mixed bag 1) MB S Class 2) BMW 7 series 3) BMW 5 GT Series 4) Audi A6 Avant 5) Audi A8 6) Lexus GS300h Yes I'm not asking for much lol. -
Audi A3 1.9 TDI - 2006 - Obtaining a spare remote key 22 Jun 2016 (Forum)
A friend of mine has just purchased an Audi A3 (56 plate) but, unfortunately, it's only been supplied with one remote key (the only key!) He would obviously like to obtain a spare. I know the key contains an immobiliser chip so is it just a matter of buying another key on Ebay (or similar) and using the existing key to program the new one, or is this a main dealer or specialist locksmith job? -
Audi A1 1.4 TFSI S Line - How to tell what engine output VAG 1.4 TFSI. 1 Nov 2015 (Forum)
My daughter has just taken delivery of an Audi A1 1.4 S TFSI S Line on the NHS lease scheme and as I went out for a little test drive, I wondered how we could tell if the engine was a 150 BHP or the lesser 125 BHP. Now, the 150 which she ordered has the cylinder on demand feature that closes down 2 cylinders under light load but I actually didn't feel that this happened at all. -
Audi TT - Selling a car privately taking off private plates 25 Mar 2015 (Forum)
Hi there I've just taken a deposit from a private buyer for our Audi TT which has a private plate on it. We would like to keep the plate and put it on retention and put the original plates (we physically have them) back on the car for the new owner. I realise this will cost us £105. -
Audi, Land Rover, BMW etc make designers redundant 18 Jun 2014 (Forum)
Audi, BMW, Land-Rover, Jaguar etc are making car designers redundant. Apparently they are no longer needed. Any of the staff can now create a new model by just increasing or decreasing size. To differentiate between models the font and rear lights will be changed a little while acrease line along flanks will be moved, up, down, angled or delted to make side views distinct. -
Audi A3 - Do I have to return car to dealer when I reject it 8 Dec 2013 (Forum)
I purchased a car 3 months ago for £7000 and amongst other things (including taking the car back 3 times for repairs) the turbo is now on its way out (I have a report from Audi stating this). The car was previously owned by the manager of the garage so he would have known all the issues with the car. I have had legal advice and they think I am within my right to reject the car for a refund but I forgot to ask them if I have to take the car back to the garage when I reject it. -
Audi S4 - Stolen Spare Wheel 16 Feb 2012 (Forum)
The only place it has been since it's MOT last year, where they had my keys while I was not with the car (the wheel is in the boot - keys essential), was either the Audi Garage that serviced it, or Gatwick Valet parking. The parking was the "official" Gatwick airport parking and the check in/out form does not mention spare wheels as part of the check, but no doubt says they are not responsible for anything. -
Volvo V50 or Audi A4 Avant? 26 Jan 2012 (Forum)
What are the petrol units like in either? Dont fancy the running costs on a Volvo T5 or audi 2.0 TFSI but the costs of the 2.4 petrol Volvo or 1.8 T A4 seem to be more acceptable........ -
Audi A6 3.2 FSI 2004 - Water ingress kills MMI 12 Nov 2011 (Forum)
After diagnosis they said it was a control unit that needed replaced (£335) but after replacing the unit it still didn't work. Get a phone call today from Audi saying there is 4 inches of water in car and this has killed two control units. To replace the telephone unit £1294 to replace the other unit £950 to remove and replace carpets £576..... -
Audi A2 Tdi - new engine 30 Sep 2011 (Forum)
My Audi A2 Tdi has done 158,000 miles and has started using more oil. I bought the car new in 2001 and used the extended service/long life oil option. Until it reached about 145,000 miles the car used 1 litre of oil over 20,000 miles. -
Audi A4 - Dashboard lights 24 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I notice that other cars have the display lit up during the day - and it did occur to me that this might have once been the case with my Audi, but that the bulbs may have have failed or a fuse has gone at some time during the car's many years and nearly 200,000 miles. Does anyone know whether or not this model had daytime illumination of instruments? -
Audi A4 B5 1.6 - poor mpg - anything i can do? 17 Jan 2011 (Forum)
I have an Audi a4 1.6 petrol manual, and its giving really over the top figures for poor mpg. I put £20 in last week and i got 90 miles until the light came on again. @ 122.9 a litre, 90 miles, £20 spend works out for me at 25.14mpg. -
Audi TT Coupe - Crankcase gas recirculation 4 Apr 2010 (Forum)
It would seem the blowby gasses pick up oil vapour thus coating the various sensors, hoses etc. This seems to be more of a problem with direct injection engines - like those on modern Audis. The lack of fuel vapour into the inlet manifold means that a lot of the oil deposits are not washed away. It all beggars the question, why dont manufacturers build a filter into the system to catch the oil vapour? -
Audi - How many men does it take to change a light bulb?! 14 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Yes, of course dear (that's what fathers are for isn't it?) Daughter duly arrived shortly afterwards. Checked handbook. Ominously it said see you Audi dealer. Checked internet. First remove entire headlight assembly...... Now fortunately I live in a small town where people are helpful so I decided on the act daft routine and went down to my local car accessories shop.
